Works great. Smells at first, but that goes away. Cools down quickly & cooked food fast. Good size and cord length. Overall pleased with purchase.

WE have used our little single burner for alot of things... alot -- and it has Performed BEAUTIFULLY!!!!The basement apartment does not have a cooktop and --granted we do not do alot of cooking --- when we need to pot/pan cook.... this beautiful thing has been a champ -- (in other words its not just able to cook well --- it excels)(alot of our cooking is actually done in a Gourmia)I do not notice any noise -- its compact for a "kitchen area of less than a 2x6 counter -- easy to clean, as long as you do not let it sit too long to clean itThe cord might be too short for some -- but for us.. we dont see an issue

I've been through other coil portable electric stove tops, infrared-- or whatever it's called--(that use a lot of electricity1200 watts or more and do not heat faster. The one I have but don't use actually takes much longer to heat the same 5 qrt pit of soup.), and the iron top ones (these are great when they work, but lack the finesse of heat regulation, and take longer to cool off). This 1k watt stove works perfectly. It heats up large 5 quart pots and you have to lower the temp to a 2 or so to keep a good simmer going. This is the first one I've owned that has that finesse in heat regulation. It's easy to store, and I prefer the stainless steel appearance. My only complaint is that it is a pain to clean. The coil is not moveable, so getting under it to clean overspills is a major pain.

I'd like to explain why I took off 2 stars.* minus one star because there is no OFF indicator for this burner. I have NO IDEA if it's off and can only assume that if I turn the dial counterclockwise as far as it will go - then it will be off. I should not have to assume it's off. "OFF" needs to always be clearly labeled with something that could be a fire hazard.* minus one star because the seller lied about this burner being easy to clean. In fact, it's difficult to clean. They should be forced to remove that lie from the description. You cannot remove the burner like you can on a stove top with this type burner. So, you have to push a skinny object of some sort under the burner to clean it which is in fact DIFFICULT to clean.All in all - I'll keep it, though. I saw a lot of reviews talking about the heat. I don't know about theirs, but mine heats up just like this particular tech should. This is not an induction burner nor an open flame, so I don't know why people are comparing it that way. If you look at my pictures, the burner gets plenty hot. The heat is not consistent, but that is characteristic of this type of burner tech. I have been using it every day and hope it lasts. I would recommend this burner but it's VERY difficult to clean and will stink up your place if you don't clean it.
