I am a professional writer. I use a Cross Calais ballpoint (gels are messy) all day and take notes on cheap paper, then consolidate them into one pagers in this notebook, and that is my system. You don't have to employ it, but damn - ever since I gave up 99 cent PaperMate pens and crap Target notebooks, it is now quality, clarity, and organized reference notes. The left margin is so important, and they have quality perforations, but the pages do not get loose. I wish I had known about these in college.Do not be afraid to pay for quality, and while you can use MS One Note or what-have-you . . . whatever goes on your machine gets lost in the machine, and you know this. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways, and this notebook is the old way and also the best way (Peter Pauper Journals are also nearest to perfection) to get past the cheap pens/notebooks that you probably used in college (which I did too).Bottom line: do you use a pen and take notes all day and change topics frequently? This is your solution.PS I love how one of the questions was "Water resistance". Ha, well they are definitely NOT coffee-resistant, I can tell you that, but they do not buckle like Mead notebook paper where you will lose the whole assembly if it gets wet.Thank you Oxford.Thank you Cross.Honorable mention: Parker Pens (my backup; a very close second to the almighty Calais)No I am not sponsored by these companies but I am open to it . . .

I love cornell style notes, but few notebooks are bound flip style. Perfect for taking quick lecture notes without taking up desk space

I really like the setup of this notebook. I use it for my grad school classes. Taking Cornell notes is really easy and it also gives me space to add class notes to my notes from my readings. I like how it's double sided but I wish there were page numbers at the bottom to help me kinda orient myself.

I like these notebooks for capturing notes for work. I use them during meetings, to jot notes as random things come up and a great way to do basic project planning.

My only comment is that the pages stick together, which causes them to tear. It has to do with the way the spiral is punctured. So when I receive the pad, I go through the pad and take a few pages at a time and separate them. This helps me then separate the individual pages. Otherwise, I love the layout of these pads. I wish they could improve this part of the pads.
