Nice little waterproof spiral notebook. Works with nearly all inks and pencils. Gel ink or wetter inks (like Pilot Precise V5 RT and Uni-ball Vision) bubble up on the paper a little, but pilot hardly smeared at all right after writing with it, and the uniball had some smearing right after writing, but dried within 1 minute. My 0.9 and 0.3 mechanical pencils smeared a little after writing and smeared a little when erasing. Ballpoint pens worked great, but can't be erased with alcohol pads; the alcohol just soaks into the paper. The pages can tear like normal paper, but is much thicker than normal paper. This is a good thing with this spiral notebook because you can tear out pages you don't need without the need for scissors. When running water over the paper, the water runs right off without washing away any of the ink or pencil... awesome!Great little notebook!

I carry one if these in my front pocket of my pants everyday. The spiral spine is very durable and never bends or deforms. The pages are completely water proof. If you use a Fisher Space Pen you can literally write in water (I keep my notepad close by in the shower in case Ibhave to write something down). The ink is slightly lighter when writing on this pad because there is a waterproof coating on each page. If you have ever used Rite In the Rain note pads then this is very similar. I will continue to purchase these notepads. Great size, durability, and performance.

I purchased these for adult stocking stuffers along with a nice pen. Got some great feedback from the recipients. The paper works when drops get on it, a little shake the drops off helps. Great quality paper and it works. Very handy to have in your car should you need to write down info and the weather’s bad. Makes sense to buy more.

It's good as a waterproof notebook. I bought the one with graph paper. Unfortunately, the grid is irregular: the lines are parallel an perpendicular, but the spaces in between are not all the same. The boxes are not square. Distance between lines varies from 7.0 to 8.0mm vertically; 8.8mm to 9.2mm horizontally. So the grid is mostly pointless. I kept them because they are still decent for taking notes. The paper takes ballpoint ink, sharpie and pencil just fine.Yes, the notebook was smelly when it arrived. The paper is coated with waterproofing. The smell dissipated a few weeks after I took the notebooks out of the bag that they came in. I'm rather sensitive to chemical vapors, and the smell didn't bother me.

Finally! A legitimate method of note taking for those, late night, spontaneous truck stop brain storming sessions with the guys in the group showers.I purchased the Maleden All Weather Spiral Notebooks because they are the exact size I need for a personal project I cannot divulge. The all weather paper durability and plastic cover will allow the notebook to take a beating during the next city wide purge event or those seven man, 3:00 am freestyle thumb "wrast'n" rallies at the bus stop. The green color gives it you a disciplined military feel when your scratching notes all the time like me. I feel like a general. Dictating notes about the recent battle. Or crafting letters back home to my sweet beloved aussiedoodle, Burgermeister Meisterburger. Telling my wife not to forget to feed Burgermeister Meisterburger. The notebooks come with a yellowish/green pages with a grid layout which helps with creating organized thoughts and visually appealing sketches of how I can come to terms with my relationship with Geophagy.Good notebooks. I will order again.

Okay, I bought these and then also the Rite in the Rain brand for comparison. Conclusion - the Maladen brand is better. The reason is pretty simple. However the Maladen brand cut or beveled the page corners and cover, it makes it much easy to flip pages forward and back, I.e., easier than Rite in the Rain which seemed to catch more and just didn’t have as good of a “feel†to me. The Maladen pages do have a slight odor but it is not apparent or bothersome unless you’ve got the thing right up to your face. Rite in the Rain does not have that odor. However, the odor in my opinion is a small trade off for the better feel of the Maladen. Only downside of the Maladen is that they seem out of stock everywhere all the time.

These notebooks may be water resistant, but they aren't waterproof. I got the notebooks to write on when I'm in the steam room at the gym (otherwise, I get sooo bored). I used pencil, and by the time I got to the bottom of the first page, it was getting saturated and harder to write on--"mushy." I did not dare write on the back of the page, and moved on to a fresh page. I had to leave the notebook outside my gym bag to dry out afterward. I've ordered an all-weather pen in hopes that it will work better with semi-soggy pages than the pencil did. Mind you, regular paper would have become pulp; these notebooks aren't worthless! But they don't have the level of water-resistant than I'd hoped. EDITED TO ADD: My favorite write-wet pen so far is a Uni-Ball Power Tank pen. However, once I got halfway through the first notebook, the stress of turning a page caused the paper to tear very easily. I am unlikely to order these again.

Prima Einkaufszettel, denen feuchtes Wetter nichts ausmacht und die nicht so schnell die Statur verlieren.

Small wet-note books which are excellent when out on the hills.
