This efficient pitter removes the stones from 6 cherries at a time and holds up to 1 pound of pits so you can prep pie, cobbler, clafoutis, fruit salad, or just a big bowl for snacking in a manner of minutes. The base adjusts to fit a wide range of bowls for pitting a little or a lot. Made for one-handed operation, there’s no need to remove the fruit after each round: When you lift the lid, the pitted cherries drop directly into the bowl while the pits are caught in an easy-to-access tray. The legs fold in for compact storage, and the pitter comes apart for thorough cleaning. Dishwasher safe.

I bought this to replace my old cherry de-pitter from a different brand, and I couldn’t be happier! If you’re not using a tool like this, you’re truly missing out—it makes eating cherries so much easier, especially when dealing with larger batches. So far, I’m really impressed with this unit. It works smoothly, is easy to use (even my 6-year-old loves using it), and comes apart for quick and simple cleaning. Compared to my previous one, this feels like a definite upgrade in both performance and durability. If you’re looking for an effective and reliable cherry de-pitter, I’d highly recommend this one.

As soon as I purchased this, I got a huge bag of cherries to be ready to try it out. I've had a variety of pitters, none that I care for too much. This is my first multi-pitter. The day it arrived, I washed it, the cherries, and went to work. Set up was fast and putting the cherries was fast. I went through several pounds of cherries, rinsed them, halved them, bagged them, and easily took apart the pitter and put it in the dishwasher all in less than 30 minutes. And to celebrate, I made a cherry berry smoothie that was delicious. This product is excellent, easy to use, and easy to clean. I will say it pays to take a quick glance at them after you pit them before dropping them in your bowl. I had one or two still hanging from the cherry, but that's only two out of several pounds. That's excellent. Minimal juice or mess too. For the price, it was a performance bargain! It folds together and easy to put in a kitchen drawer. And is safe to use; your little ones could do it. I was very happy I could just put it in the dishwasher too. I have several Oxo products, and this one won't be the last!

I purchased this because of a "spontaneity" purchase of what I thought were pitted cherries—5 pounds worth. Quickly realizing my mistake, I looked for a solution, and this was what I picked. Many options were available, but this gave me speed, the OXO brand (of which I own a large selection of their products), and somewhat easy cleanup.Pit 6 cherries or similarly sized fruits at once. The pits fall into a little tray for easy disposal. The fruit so pitted stays on the "+" shaped plungers. When done on a Pyrex mixing bowl, I had zero issues; any escaping "juice spray" went into the bowl. I was emptying the pit tray every 24 to 36 Cherries I pitted with this device although the tray always had room for more. I emptied it often to avoid a pit hitting another pit already in the tray and causing potential damage. The cleanup could have been better, but not too bad either. The top separates from the base and then into two separate parts. The white (outer cover) and the burgundy red inner plate separate from the pitter's main body. The burgundy inner plate is a bit flexible, and a gentle squeeze of the sides popped it free from the white outer cover. The pit tray is also easily removed. And has some sharp corners so a good fine brush or high pressure water is needed to completely clean it.What is not removable from this device and is, in fact, a bit fragile is the bottom tray. The Bottom tray is a translucent burgundy in color, and the fruit sits on this tray before being pitted. This is the only translucent part on the device. This tray gets the most of the juice and spray, and unless you constantly clean it, it gums up quickly. Worse, while this tray is held in by tiny plastic pins, it also has tiny sharp corners where juice collects. I had to use 2 different types of brushes to get the collected juice out of these corners.Overall, I would say this is a great product if you put a pound or two of appropriate fruits with it. However, the small size (meant for a home kitchen) means it can be awkward to pit much more than that at a time.By far faster than a single fruit pitter, but with the complexity of build comes the complexity of use and care. I used this with two different-sized bowls, and the expansion feature seemed to work well. However, I prefer not expanding it at all and use an appropriately sized glass bowl on a flat stable surface.

This device works as advertised. Place it over a large bowl and pitting cherries goes very fast - with a quick motion the cherries are pitted, pits dropped into tray, and pulling all the way back puts pitted cherries in the tray and ready for the next batch - Love it.

I've pitted over 15lbs of cherries with this thing. It's amazing. Pull the stems off, pop six cherries in there, push the top down, six cherries perfectly pitted. Tray underneath holds the pits. Almost no juice splatter. A breeze to operate and clean. Nothing sharp. Doesn't take too much strength to use. Stores flat. One word of caution: it's designed to be used on top of a bowl. The mechanism for that is very simple and works well. The first bowl I used was a round plastic mixing bowl. I pushed down with too much energy and the bowl went flying. Switched to a square Rubbermaid bowl, dialed my enthusiasm back a bit, and it worked great. It's designed to automatically drop the cherries into the bowl and it does that perfectly. I can't think of a thing bad to say about it.

This is such an efficient cherry pitter. It easily allows you to pit 6 cherries with minimal mess. It occasionally has a cherry that the pit doesn't pop all the way through but for the most part it works really well and is a quick way to pit lots of cherries. The parts come apart easily for cleaning. We liked it so much we bought another for a gift!

I think I had a slightly idealistic view of how much easier this would make pitting cherries. Was making a black forest ghetto and it slightly expedited the process but was still time-consuming.

I've just done a large bowl full of cherries using the OXO Multi Cherry Pitter. Most of the time it worked flawlessly, occasionally the seed would still be attached (dangling via the skin) to some cherries. None of the cherries had the seed remaining inside.Given the differences in cherry sizes, I don't know if any other pitting device would do a better job?
