I purchased this tester to test a new connector that I installed. The old connector did not come apart well and the wiring was not marked.I managed to get a print of what I believed to be the correct wiring of the old part but had to verify through some trial and error.I used this to test both sockets as I put a dual socket holder in place. It showed both of them were wired correctly.

Great little tool for checking power connections from vehicle to trailer without having to actually hook up to the trailer. My problem turned out to be a burned out fuse in the vehicle, a quick and easy fix.

this tester works great it will only test 7 pin and 5 pin trailer wiring harnes it will not work on a 4 pin trailer harness attach to ur truck

It's hard to tell if the problem with my trailer lights is the car or the trailer. Or how hard it is to connect the round end to the car properly. This made testing my wiring/plug so easy.
