This is the best quality gardening tool you’ll ever buy! You can really tell that this company used to make folded steel swords!

Works great and is solid, seems like it’s gonna last me a while. Mine came with a rivet that was split on the back. On the front of that rivet the leather had been ripped as shown in the second picture. Even with the rip it doesn’t seem to be ripping any further. If this one ever breaks I’m gonna definitely reorder, the split rivet was most likely a fluke.Edit: One year later and the rip hasn’t gotten worse at all despite daily use. If you are considering getting this than I highly recommend it.

I clip this to my pants pocket. Sometimes I don't get my blade fully retracted, but I never worry about being hurt using this holster. Thick leather. Sturdy metal clip.

I’m a manager for a grocery store and I hate having things in my pockets. It just clicks onto your belt and hold the cutter. Would definitely recommend this product

When working at a grocery store, I find myself cutting and opening boxes. Almost everyone that works in any department in my store needs a good box cutter. Some like to put it in their back pocket, and some prefer the standard plastic holsters that come with the cutters. I found practically all cutter sheaths are merely adequate but didn’t provide easy removal and re-holstering of a box knife. This cutter sheath has addressed this problem.Build Quality: This is a decent quality leather sheath. It is stitched well enough and seems strong. The belt loop slits are cut out well and have been rounded at either end to prevent tearing.Ease of use: The belt clip attached to the top is nice as you can just clip it to your pants pocket. This simplifies the use of the sheath as you don’t need a belt to keep the sheath on you. When other sheaths require a belt to mount, I just want something casual and simple.Coolness: The rule of cool is my personal goal to everything: it needs to look cool. The leather is pretty old-school and makes the rig rather unique for such an ordinary item.Performance: The holstering and re-holstering is very easy, fast, and is especially important to me as I need my cutter constantly. The opening of the sheath is generous and will likely accommodate just about any box knife or similar shaped item you insert. The tip of the sheath is tapered and allows anything that is inserted to wedge itself inside, preventing items from shifting or rattling around while holstered inside.Durability: The sheath has stood up to a year of use and has performed well. The leather is becoming dark and scared from work and exposure. Also, the leather is softer now with use, but not becoming too flexible. All of the rivets are staying in place and the metal clip is still attached.Overall, this Item is ok for my needs and shows that older style leather can be great, if not superior to mere plastic or metal.

I've used this holster model for the better part of 10 years with S4R and S5R models and I refuse to use anything else. I clip it into either my back pocket or my belt. I've tried using the plastic holsters from PHC, but they're too flimsy. This one has the satisfying sturdiness of leather. The only point of weakness is the pair of rivets securing the metal to the leather, but I've found wrapping it in gorilla tape seems to help protect them somewhat from wear and tear. If you use PHC cutters - or any tool that'll fit in there - you can't go wrong with this holster.

I have probably only had this holster for about a month but I am very happy with it. My box cutter has never fallen out once and only three times did the clip on come off my belt. Each time I was reaching behind for my wallet. I should just start putting my belt through the slots and that would be the end of it popping off. I was often forgetting where I put my box cutter at work and now I always have it easily on me.
