These sponges were highly recommended from another painter. They may work well at some point in the future, but they were shipped in a vacuum sealed package and they may take 24 hours or more to return to normal shape. I may update my review later if they restore shape and work well.UPDATE: Took about 16 hours and the sponges returned to shape. Worked well for applying many coats of poly.

Use heat like a blow dryer or something to get them to expand into their full shape so you don’t have to wait forever, good sponges for what I needed ðŸ‘ðŸ»

Ignore the negative comments about these being flat! Sponges are absorbent....they shrink when dry and expand when wet. Yes, they come flat as pancakes....run it under water and give it a few squeezes and it magically looks like an actual sponge! Wow!Worked perfect for my project applying gator hide!

They started to flake apart and left blue flakes all over my white table. Ruined my project.

I bought these for my top clear coat for chalk painting! For anyone who is concerned about receiving flattened sponges, guys, I received them like that too. You just need to soak them with WATER, like run under sink tap, it’ll take a bit for them to become puffy. Just keep going until they get puffy. Sponges will ALWAYS be compressed if it’s dry, that’s just how it works.

I used these sponges to apply polyurethane. They worked great and were very easy to hold onto.

I thought these were a joke when they arrived as all the air had been removed from them. They popped up overnight and are just like the photo.I used this product to smooth out varathane on a table top.
