The 1st piccolo was used in pep band & concert band. Poor sound quality. My director felt it was a flaw in the piccolo. I reordered the same piccolo & it was used 4 times in summer city marching band on the 4th of July. Yesterday highschool band camp started. The piccolo literally fell apart in his hands. He has played piccolo & flute for 6 years & has a chance to go professional. Surely this company can do better than loose screws and Elmer's glued pads.

Honestly if you get lucky and the piccolo is not damaged it works just great. I would recommend using this for marching band instead of concert as tone isn't the best but it is acceptable. Overall great piccolo, definitely would recommend if you are a beginner so you can just have it to noodle around or for marching band.

Good piccolo for a high school student or marching band. I'll be keeping it as a backup. Calling this a "professional" piccolo is overkill. The material is plastic (resin) -- which is good, but not "space age" or "wood". My $1000 Pearl resin piccolo is easier to play and has a better tone. But this inexpensive piccolo plays well enough and is reasonably in tune. The pads seal well and all the notes come out okay. You'll need a piccolo size cleaning swab. The microfiber cloth is much too big for the inside. It will work fine for wiping off fingerprints from the outside. The cleaning rod is tan colored plastic made to look like wood. Plastic is fine for a cleaning rod.The case looks good from the outside, but the A flat key ends up touching the head joint. Not the best fit.My only complaint is that the description and title of the piccolo make it sound nicer than it actually is. It's still a student level piccolo at a student level price.

This piccolo sounded great! I did not wanted to return it but sadly it became extremely hard to play. Fast passages became increasingly difficult to execute and at first I blamed myself for lack of practice. However, after careful inspection I noticed that some keys were not closing appropriately and I had to press them very hard to accomplish fast passages. It seems like the padding was shrinking as I kept playing because at first it sounded very nice and I had no problems. This piccolo is very nice and if you are lucky enough not to get a faulty one then you'll have a good experience.

Small and compact but a great Wood Piccolo.

My son states says the piccolo is quite adequate for using outdoors in the marching band performances where he's less willing to take his much more professional grade instruments. The tone is good and the keys and mechanisms are well constructed, requiring no maintenance so far. Overall for the price, for a beginner through intermediate player, or marching band this is ideal.
