I am not a professional, but played in my college marching band and am an intermediate level player. I play for personal enjoyment and ocassionally in Church. The last several years I played a Sky student piccolo and wanted to uprade to a little higher quality, which is why I chose this one. It turned out even better than expected! The workmanship is good, it seems sturdy, and best of all the sound is great! It doesn't sound too airy but rather bold, pretty, and clear. For me, the headjoint makes this one easier to tune. I had pitch problems from the beginning with the Sky piccolo, so am happy this seems better. I had wondered what the case would be like since there was no picture, so I was pleased to find it comes in a solid hard case that you can put inside a soft carrying case with strap and zipper. Of course there is the adjustment period that comes with breaking in any new instrument, but that is going smoothly and so far I am thrilled with the quality and sound of this piccolo.

My daughter, who plays the flute, decided to branch out. We bought this as a beginner/learner instrument and she is very happy with it as is her teacher.

Piece of junk. Do not waste your money. My daughter slipped on the ice and broke her first piccolo. We needed a replacement immediately, so we ordered the Roy Benson on line. She has played this Roy Benson 3 times and it it a piece of junk. Our usual repairman would not even touch this instrument to repair it. He said it would fall apart. My husband suffered a stroke in late 2014, money is tight and now I am left with a piece of junk piccolo. Somehow I have to figure out how to get a piccolo for my daughters last year in marching band.Do not wast your money like I did!!

Great for marching band. If you want a professional level, then get a wood one. No problems hitting the high notes others have complained about, just took a little bit of practice - breath from your stomach and tighten your corners. Everything arrived as described.

El estuche viene muy bien pero la flauta esta llena de manchas negras y rojas, como oxido o grasa, y no se le quitan con una servilleta. Parece un instrumento usado y lo vendieron como uno nuevo.

Acquistato per moglie e figlia si è rivelato un ottavino facile da suonare. La meccanica è meglio rifinita rispetto a prodotti più economici che abbiamo provato prima di questo.
