Product Description
- 1 Box Iron Bead Tips Knot Covers, Clamshell Bead Tip, Clasps End Terminators
- Size: about 4mm wide, 8mm long, 3mm inner diameter, hole: 1.5mm.
- Bead tips and clamshells are used to join thread to a clasp, and are easy to use. They're great for use with silk because they make strong, streamlined finished jewelry.
- You can string this bead tip onto the end of your knotted silk cord to hide the knot at the end and provide a loop for attaching a clasp.
- The hook at the end of the bead tip can be bent down to create a secure loop. This bead tip makes for a professional finishing touch that pairs well with knotted pearl jewelry.
Size Info
- Size: about 4mm wide, 8mm long, 3mm inner diameter, hole: 1.5mm.
Tutorial
Step 1
- Feed thread through the thread hole in the hinged section of the bead tip.
Step 2
- String one seed bead onto your thread then pass the thread back through the seed bead in the same direction, to hold seed bead in place.
- Pick up your bead tip and lay the seed bead inside the bead tip cup.
- Optional: Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the bead tip.
Step 3
- Once bead is lying in bead tip, use a pair of flat-nose pliers and gently close the bead tip. Attached at the top of the bead tip is a loop you can open, use a pair of flat-nose pliers to twist the loop open and attach to your jumpring and/or clasp.
- Note: Some bottom clamp-on styles feature closed double loops for attaching a jumpring.

They look nice. They break easily. I’ve been making beaded eye glasses holders this clam shell just fell apart in a few days. Another one broke while I was beading as well. Both broke along the fold line. They’re just pretty thin. I haven’t really had this problem before so I’m assuming it’s just not the greatest quality but might be fine for kids and practice.

I received these on Friday, they are a great variety of colours, from what little I've used them they so far seem sturdy, of good quality and are easy to use. I also love the little box they come in, separating all the colours while still giving you easy access.I will just say that if you buy these, make sure you also buy some jump hoops, as the ends are closed hoops, not "claw" hooks. So, to connect to a clasp or ear ring, you will need a jump hoop. But I knew this when I ordered them and, yup, also ordered some jump hoops. I would have preferred this sort of variety in a "claw" hook, but am still very happy with the variety and quantity I received.
