For most modern doors you will need to trim both the locking side “copper†lock latch and the interior lock latch. They are steel and not copper, more of a brass coating on steel. If the interior or exterior locking mechanism are hard to turn you need to file a little more and try again. Other than the fact that they don’t mention that anywhere in the instructions the mechanism seems to work OK and I like knowing that I can have an extra locking way to get in. Was a good upgrade on my patio door that had the inner mechanism spring break anyway.

It does the job, my previous one stop working it wouldn't lach to lock, came across this one and the it fit perfect and the installation was very simple and easy the key is an additional probably won't use it, but it's there if necessary. Product is well built and seems to be durable.

Although the picture shows a lever to enable locking and unlocking from the inside, as any lock should, this level was not included. Therefore, you could only lock and unlock from the outside. Why on earth would anyone want or any company sell a door lock that could not be unlocked from the inside, other than possibly nefarious. This would be a true fire hazard as someone would not be able to get out! i would imagine it's actually illegal and any company selling such an item should be investigated.

First time installing these locks. Not mentioned on instructions but felt like the lock could slip inside the door opening. Only thing to fit in the hole was a chopstick to act as backstopper.The mortise set seems to vary slightly from original and doesn't fit as flush. Check the lock hook compared to your original as that might require you to buy a new lock "receiver/female" that is on the opposite door jam.The most important and poorest of instructions is how to cut the tabs on both inside and outside lock/handle pieces. It may show a scissor icon as a way to cut but you will need a Dremel like tool to cut and grind to size as it is too small to hack saw.The comments that the key gets stuck or tight is true but found that the trick is to have the 2 tabs cut and mate almost perfect to each other so that they just touch. The reason the lock operation is tight/stuck is because the 2 tabs are rubbing against each other. It took a few tries of grinding and test fits to work. The operation is OK but totally get it since these are universal fit locks.Tried other brands and very similar, just more of how the mortise fits and lock hook matches up to my original door is all.

Product was used, not new. Missing parts and damaged. I would not recommend this product.

My door is a very heavy and thick framed vinyl and this handle is very light weight so I didn't want to risk it breaking in a year or two. The old handle is 17 yrs old and still intact, but the thumb latch and latch spring both wore out. Nothing wrong with this unit, but I prefer something chunkier and more solid.

This handle is seemingly all aluminium and quite strongI had bought several other handles that did not fit my door but this one fits well and is easy on the wallet. The HOA that runs the maintenance of our condos, wanted to charge m e 3 times what I could have bought this for from anywhere else.
