Easy to install and makes hooking up generator to house SO much easier...no more tripping over lots of extension cords in the dark. Should have done this years ago! My advise would be use the 50 amp hookup instead of the 30 amp. You can get a converter plug (30-50 amp) if your generator only has a 30 amp output and then if you upgrade your generator to 50 amp output you're good to go. I gave this one to my neighbor and re-installed the 50 amp as I intend to get a bigger generator down the line. (need min.10 ga wire for 30 amp, 6 ga for 50 amp--can buy on Amazon as well). MUST use a LOCKOUT mechanism in your breaker panel so that you do not harm lineman when power returns! (also available reasonably priced on Amazon)

My husband wanted me to order this for our generator. We looked in stores and no one carried this exact product. Similar items were much higher. He was able to install it on his own. It was the perfect size and takes up very little space. We’re hoping it functions well when we need it and that it provides the power we’re looking for.

I purchase more of these generator inlet boxes more than any other available on Amazon. They are well-made, reasonably priced, and aesthetically pleasing compared to alternatives with bulky lid with the green LED. My only criticism is the absence of a mechanical lug for the grounding stud, which the others do have.

I got this to create a port entry for my generator that I use camping. While not done yet, it will mount on my exterior wall and be wired directly to my house breaker box so that in case of a power outage, I can use my generator to power the essentials in my home without the need for power cords.A simple setup that it will work fine for.

Easy to use and install. BUT make sure to leave enough length of wire for hook up AND a very good screwdriver for tightening screws for wire down tight to hold (especially stranded). Tighten and retighten AND test to make sure. Seems to be the only hiccup with it. Or I'm getting old and weak. :) Could be it. LOL

Good construction. Works as described. A tight fit for wires, when using 6 guage for 50 Amp.Goes value .

I would give 5 stars if securing 10 awg wire to a small box was a bit more robust and markings more visible. The cable must be clamped from back and then when wires secured, the previous would loosen when successive ones tightened.. The Philips/slot screws would slip on driver before sufficient torc. I succeeded and confirmed continuity but with much effort.

ce dispositif va très bien avec des fiches femelles mouler de compagnie mais ca ne fonctionne pas avec des fiches femelles de remplacement qu`on achète la fiche ne tient pas et n`entre pas assez profond pour se verrouiller sinon j`airais mis 5 étoiles

It does what’s it supposed to. But why do they engener these with rear connections. This makes hard to put the wires also why do they put connectors text black on black makes hard to read
