Great product, looks like the rope is going to last a while and it's actually pretty wide so plenty of scratching surface. It would be nice if the two tube attaching points would have been the same so you could switch them out as the bottom one got worn or even just tip it upside down with the same size top piece but the bottom piece is mounted differently to the base. It does make it stronger but limits the life of it. I do have the bolt to to the missing top piece so I will probably just use it to bolt a piece of plywood when it's time to turn it upside down. The box came missing the very top cap/piece, not a deal breaker and it would have been too small for either one of my fat cats to sit on anyway.

I have a 14-pound Norwegian Forest cat. Finally, I found a cat scratching post that is big enough for her. The post looks great, super easy to put together and my cat loves it. It's not indestructible, but for her it lasts longer than those flimsy posts do. This is well made and sturdy. After a year it began to show some signs of wear, so I'm buying a new one. I do recommend this especially if you have a Norwegian Forest Cat or a Maine Coon or if you cat needs a more serious scratching post.

This is tall and thick and the cats love it. Very sturdy, the only problem is that the rope isn't wound tightly around the posts, after two days there are gaps showing. Since the cats love it I'll keep it and report back on how long it lasts.

My furry child has more scratching posts than the average kitty. He’s spoiled and fussy but when he finally likes something, it’s a miracle. This one is definitely his favorite of all time because of the wide diameter and heavy base. It’s tall enough to get in his longest stretch and more climb-able than some of his condos and trees. His other older posts sometimes tip over when he gets carries away, get shredded because it’s constructed of cheap materials, or sit and gather dust because he won’t touch them. This ultra premium post stands firmly. Very sturdy. It came ready to assemble in few pieces and so intuitive that you really don’t need instructions. Each of the pieces are hefty. I’m certain that it will last a good long time. At first I thought that I might have to sprinkle catnip on the main section to lure him to use this post. Nope, not necessary. He took to it right away. Sweet! Now I can toss out the other posts. Yay!

I got this because Mo (that’s her in the picture) kept clawing this corner of the new sectional. The furniture is microfiber which is the only material I’ve found that can hold up to fully clawed cats, cat hair and even cleaning up the occasional hairball, but I thought there was no point in pushing my luck. I put it in front of the corner and rubbed a little catnip into it. She sniffed it and ignored it for a day or two then started using it. Problem solved! It was easy to put together and is holding up well so far. My other two cats (also fully clawed) like it too especially the toy on the side. I did notice there’s a little bit of space in the middle where they wrapped the sisal rope and you can see the heavy duty cardboard underneath. The rope is secured well though and it doesn’t bother me. The post is nice and tall so a fully grown cat can get a good stretch. Overall very pleased.p.s. A note on microfiber… I had my last microfiber furniture almost 10 years and in that time had multiple cats. After 10 years it was time to replace it, but it still showed very minimal wear. I ended up giving it to a guy for his downstairs basement. Microfiber is the way to go when it comes to cats.

I have had this for a year and my cat's still use it daily! They love being able to stretch up and scratch, and they enjoy climbing on it! Both of my cats are nine pounds and sit perfectly on top hahaha. It's very sturdy, theyve pushed it over during zoomies and it doesn't break. It's rather hard to push over for a cat. It looks fine in our living room, not awkward at all! And best of all, my couch is saved!

My cats are tall and lanky. They love using this scratcher because it's tall enough for them to get a good stretch! It's well-made and super easy to put together. It took me less than 5 minutes to assemble. I sprayed it with a bit of meowijuana cat nip spray and we were set!

Nice size for a three cat household but the twine is already coming apart and the post is visible through the gaps.
