This review is for the SineFine PCI-E USB Expansion Card. I am very happy with this purchase. I was able to easily install the card, the Windows 10 operating system recognized the card without any issue, and the devices plugged into the card work fine. It is important to get a PCI-E USB Expansion card with vertical slots - with horizontal slots you run the risk of not being able to plug in your USB-A cable because the cable is to wide for the computer case slot opening. Overall, this card initially is a good value.

Does not work with Linux. Tried three different computers with Centos 7.9, Rocky Linux 9.3 and Ubuntu 23.11. Linux does see the card at boot and the card shows up with "lspci". But when I plug in a USB disk or thumb drive to the card, it does not work or recognize the storage device with "lsblk". It worked briefly on Rocky Linux 9.3 if the drive was connected when the linux computer was booted, but then trying to accessing the USB storage device using the card, the USB PCI card stopped functioning.

The specifications of this item should cover actual speed for PCIe types. It works well and is easy to set up but won't be above USB 2.0 for a PCIe x1.

This card worked fine, windows 10 found it on boot. However, unlike many other USB cards that require Sata power only for connecting high draw devices like bus powered HD's, this card wouldn't even mount a usb flash drive until I connected power to it. It showed up in devices, just wouldn't mount anything. I had to disconnect my optical drive to test the theory, since it was the only cable that would reach, even with the included power splitter. I'll need an extension to get both installed. Once the power cable was connected, it worked as expected. And I know, it shows attaching power in the picture of the product...however of the dozens of these I've installed over the years of support, this is the ONLY one that REQUIRED it, so save two more days and plan ahead :D

This is the most versatile I/O card I've seen that includes an internal front USB 3.0 header. The only issue I can think of is that the PCIe bracket wasn't quite snug with my case, but this isn't a big deal. It may also be important to note that you need a SATA power connector for this card.

I've tested this using PCI x1, x4, and x16. Highly recommend using x4 or a spare x16 if you have one. While it does work in a x1 slot I've noticed a bit faster speeds using a x4 or x16 slot.

I installed this expansion card on my Windows 11 machine. It worked for ancillary external USB A & C devices (mouse, webcam, keyboard), but initially did not work on my USB A encrypted external hard drive using the default Windows drivers. I installed the manufacturer's drivers provided in the instructions and now I have no issues with the external hard drive.

One can never have enough USB ports and even with this additional card I already find myself wanting another one. It was easy to install and works flawlessly so far. I have done specific speed tests but I have done file copies of over 3TB without any issues and the speeds are as expected (The hard drive is the bottleneck).

There are 4 ports provided by the Fresco 1100 chipset, but a total of 7 (5ext + 2 int) USB ports on the card. No surprise here that the driver indicate the presence of a USB hub for some of the ports. This is not a showstopper as devices may not need 5Gbits all at the same time, and the card is connected to a PCIex 1X slot, limiting the transfer to2.5/5 or 8Gbits/s anyway. I expect that some devices may have to be moved around, as I'm using a couple of video capture card. For me, this is OK, I needed a second USB header on my computer, and some extra ports, but mainly for convenience, and only have X1 slot available. The card works perfectly under Linux (Ubuntu 20.04). My MB has PCIex 3.0, but the 1X slots operate only at PCIex 2.0, which has a 5GT/s bandwidth. I expect some limitationsOverall, this is a nice versatile card, even for a newer PC. In my case, I already have USB 3.2 connector, but only one internal connector, and needed one for the front panel and one for my media bay. This card suits my need and work perfectly for me.

Easy to install, works for all my USB peripherals except my Razer wolverine controller. Sometimes it doesn't recognize it.

I transferred my PC to a newer case that had a panel mounted USB3 port. Unfortunately my motherboard did have the 19pin header for this port. This expansion board not only has an internal 19pin header but includes external USB3 and USB-C ports. Installation was simple, Win 10 recognized the board without any issues. A number of power cables were supplied for the onboard SATA power port so that connected devices that charge via USB can do so without overloading the PCIe interface.
