A must for laying egg birds. Doesn't matter which bird. This kind a bit to big for small birds. Never had soft egg shells. Good quality.

I just throw this on the ground and you can see them seeking out the pieces . Their egg shells are pretty thick so I think it is working .

My chickens really like this stuff. The pieces are real small so I wouldn't get it for a tiny chick. My grown chickens have no issues and seem to vaccum it up. I have no complaints.

There's a lot of coral chunks in this bag and I see a lot of complaints about them being too large and being 'cheap rocks'. Well, they're definitely calcium carbonate and they're about half a cm or between 1/8-1/4 inch. They're the right size and irregular shape for buffering ph. and calcium in desert cactus substrate, particularly the ones I have that are from Northern Mexico in the Chihuahuan Desert. A good limestone substitute, nearly identical calcium carbonate content.
