I had originally installed an "Express Water" reverse osmosis 5-stage system under my kitchen sink, but it did nothing to remove the Chloramines from my tap water. My water still came out tasting and smelling like chlorine and high ammonia still registered on my API test kits.So, finally I bought this filter and replaced the "activated carbon" (3rd stage) filter part of my existing system. Now my water comes out PERFECT. The chlorine smell & taste is gone and the water tests MUCH better. I'm super happy with this filter and definitely recommend it if you're struggling with chloramines in your tap water.

Our municipal water is treated with cloramine. I've read that this is particularly difficult for RO systems to filter out of the water. Also, if not removed in the prefilter stage, then it will quickly degrade the membrane. These filters seem to be effective and are used in all three prefilter stages.

Good prefilter for blocking chloramine from destroying the RO membrane main filter.Previously, I used regular carbon prefilters, but the water company switched from chlorine to chloramine -- which is harder to remove. Subsequently, breakthrough occurred and destroyed the RO membrane, and the chloramine killed all my fish.I switched to this filter and so far, chlorine tests show 0 ppm!â¤ï¸

Does the job, but I found that you absolutely don’t need to replace filters every year. No difference in water quality before and after filter change. I changed filters when problem was tank membrane.

This filter is outstanding at removing sediment and more importantly the taste of chloramine. My town water tastes great. In fact, it has no taste...the way it should be. I just wish the price was lower...maybe $15 vs. $23. I have to change the filter every 6 weeks.

I bought a high end carbon and coconut shell chlorine filter cartridge and it performed miserably. We got the chlorine smell/taste with or without the filter. Then, I called Pentek technical support. One of their astute technicians claimed that we probably need a Chloramine filter. I thought Chlorine and Chloramine used the same filter, but he said no. I used the Pentek Chlor-Plus-10 filter on Chicago tap water and it removed 100% of the chlorine smell and taste. A+++

it worked well for about 2 weeks and then my water pressure dropped, also the filter swells up inside the housing to at least three times its original size which I'm sure must diminish water flow through the filter I do have hard water but my last filter last 5 months before it started acting like this one did in a couple of weeks

I have chloramines so I run this in between my sediment filter and my self made catalytic carbon filter to remove chloramine from water for winemaking and mead making as water is pricey and I can’t afford to buy 100 gallons of water everytime I need it.I have detected no chloramine in water filtered with it and have put 250 gallons through filter #1 and have a backup will see if it lasts the estimated 3,000 gallons or not.

These are an excellent filters for removing chloramine. Chloramine is much more difficult to remove than chlorine, and requires this special filter which is highly rated by a number of different water openings. It is one micron in purification design, and has special design internally which is necessary to help her move chloramine. It won't remove 100 percent of chloramine, because that is extremely difficult unless you have any incredibly expensive water filter system. But it does a great job the most of it out, and I will continue to use these regularly. Thank you Amazon for carrying these hard-to-find Pentek chlorplus cartridges!All you need to do is to replace the last carbon filter in your home water filter system (assuming you have 3 large cartridges, sediment, followed by 2 carbon cartridges, you would just remove the last third stage – and then put in this new cartridge instead). Most carbon cartridges are 5 micron filtration design. This however is one micron alteration design, but plus also has some of the high tech modifications to make a great for removing chlorine chloramine. I will continue to buy them on Amazon!

great product and works with hot water as well for removing chloramines which we know are carcinogenic.I'm so happy I'm protecting my family from whatever in city water..I run 6 different filters with different micron ratings and this filter is last.I also run an automatic distiller as well for drinking water and cooking.This product is the cheapest investment for healthy water along with its high temperatures rating.I also have a filter connected to the shower head it's over kill but I'm rather be overly safe cause I don't trust anyone when it comes to drinking safe water..WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Due to the current high prices of my OEM filters, I thought we'd try this alternative as it was on sale.Seems to filter local water chloramines as promised. However, it does restrict water flow due to micro porosity.Know that this filter is open at both ends, so it will not fully replace Rainfresh OEM filters. To make it work properly I had to use old OEM filter end pieces to adapt this filter -- essentially plugging the bottom open end. Not sure it was worth the effort for cost savings.
