I bought these for my mercruiser boat. I was having problems with my points resetting. . Never have to mess with the points ever again and motor runs great.Easy plug and play installation hardest part was drilling a hole in distributor for wire to go through..Used a dremel tool which made it super easy.I would recommend this to anyone that is sick of your points and looking for better solution.

I don't know why I did not switch from points to an electronic ignitor before now. What a difference in performance, and to think I won't have to replace and set dwell again!

The total time to make the switch was 1.2 hours. That included following ALL the prescribed checks and a small alteration to the dist cap. (File the wire loom exit point a little larger) I have used Pertronix products previously in my '72 'Vette and that is why I went to Pertronix for this project. This unit went on a 55kW standby generator for a radio station. This unit needs to start whenever it is needed. Pertronix has proved to be totally dependable in the 'Vette after sitting idle for long periods of time, and I am sure it will be the same in the generator.Amazon is also the vendor with the best price. I am totally happy with my purchase.

I've used PerTronix products before and I've always found them to be of fine quality. I'd give them five stars if their website was more user friendly. Finding information specific to this particular item (1163A) is more difficult than it needs to be.

Twice I ordered this product that I have used before and had XLNT luck with,that was then this is now first one showed up in a manufacturers box that looked like it had been dragged down a gravel road I pressed on inside was the rite unit missing some hardware but just a couple nuts that i could pickup at the hardware store.Upon further inspection it was obvious that it had been used the magnetic rotor as well as the pickup where scuffed up I paid for new and opted to return it for a replacement it came in decent time as both came out of the USA now i get a shipping box with the pickup plate and pickup no magnetic rotor no manufacturers box no nuts again no gap gauge and no instruction sheet I give up ,a month wasted of boating season i guess have to try a different source usually no issues with Amazon they have hit the mark every time.Wish there was a minus star on this one the product is fine as I said I have used them before bought at a marina new bagged in a manufacturers clean box no issues.

This box came damaged and squished and when we opened it some of the items are missing. The leads are attached to the wiring so it’s a used product. I paid over $125 for this item and now I’m told its not able to be returned. Very u happy. Have an item that paid alot of money for with missing parts so now need to buy another one from somewhere else. Do not buy from this seller
