FORD 850 -- Remove the old points, condensor and wire lug, trim dust cover to clear the magnet on the cam, install rotor and cap. YOU WILL WONDER WHY YOU WAITED SO LONG ! No more stumbling, now smooth acceleration etc. etc. I also went to an internal resistor Flamethrower coil and eliminated the external resistor. (Less wires = better) For those complaints about Pertronix...to be fair you MUST purchase the Ignitor II. With Pertronix Ignitor I if you leave the key on in a no run condition you will burn the ignition out. HIGHLY recommend this to eliminate variability of points and condensor system..

I installed this electronic ignition on my 1956 Ford 800 with 172 ci engine and it works great!! No more points to change, and it runs smooth as silk now. I do highly recommend you purchase the Flamethrower II coil and graphite core spark plug wires (got mine from Steiner Tractor).

Installed per instructions. Now tractor has no spark. Instructions are written in tiny print font making it hard to read out in the barn. Instructions are not much use for troubleshooting.
