We have engineered a special high energy module and coil combination that operates without misfires beyond 7500 RPM. That’s nearly 3000 RPM higher than most stock HEI distributors. Flame-Thrower HEI distributor produce 67 percent more energy with a 45 percent faster spark breakdown time when compared to the stock HEI. This means twice the energy to the spark plugs. Our tests show that with these improvements wider plug gaps can be used resulting in an increasing flame kernel growth for more efficient combustion.

This distributor is a nice improvement over the stock version. My car idles nicely now and the acceleration has increased.

The distributor worked out of the box as it should. However, it did not come in retail packaging, just a plain white box. Is missing the instructions, and parts needed to adjust the timing curve. I do love PerTronix stuff, but will probably avoid buying parts like this from Amazon as these are incredibly important. Now I'll have to contact the manufacturer for the parts I need to finish the job. If I'd bought this from any other retailer, the parts would have been in the box.

The rotor came in 4 pieces instead of 1: plastic moulding, 2 pieces of steel and the plastic part that holds the spring steel together. I could have returned it but then it meant another 7-10 days I couldn't drive the 58 corvette and living in Wisconsin that would be 10% of the driving time. I went to Parts store and bought the rotor portion of the distributor....just a continuation of poor products being produced!
