Upgraded my 1973 Mercruiser 188 to this ignition. ( A Ford 302) Improved engine performance by about 10%. Engine starts quicker, idle's very smoothly and moves my boat (23 ft Cabin Cruiser) at cruise speed, approx 26 knots with about 200 less rpm than before I upgraded. Needless to say at todays gas prices 200 less rpm can start to make a difference. I don't know if I will live long enough to get my money back regarding the cost of the upgrade but I don't feel I wasted it. Would recommend this product.
