I love not dealing with points ever again!!!! You might need to do some small modification to the timing or internals of the distributor. Just watch and make sure you can get full throttle advance movement out of the sliding portion of the distributor. So check your vacuum advance and make sure it is functioning properly too, if not find a Yale forklift parts dealer and search for 1971-1973 Yale with a Mazda engine and tell them it has a MA-141 distributor. (I searched for weeks for a vacuum advance replacement part) A new vacuum advance should be around $25 or less, don't pay for a used part!

I have a Satoh S650. The wave washer under the points plate cracked. It allowed the plate to rock from the pressure of the points spring and kept the points from opening. This part has no physical contact with the points cam so it does not rock the plate. Tractor runs great. smoother than it did with the points. And I did not have to buy a hard to find overpriced used distributor. First unit burned out after about 4 years of use, This is my second unit.

Old one shorted out and burned out pick up. This was used on a small Yale fork lift.

Only lasts 1 year, I thought the first one was just a fluke but nope, the second one just quit working and it has been 1 year and 2 weeks. JUNK

Much better than points, however it is not reliable. On my second unit in 4 years.
