Like a tank. I have aggressive scratchers and it holds up. I purchased the larger size. Standing it did not perform well, but in a reclining position, it works very well. Got the cats off the side of my boxspring. Highly recommend.

To start, this thing does absolutely require being glued, screwed, or taped to the floor in order for it to not tip over at the first pick of a claw. I have a roll of thick 3M tape I used, but it was useless for scratching without it.I do like that the material used doesn’t shed, but this needs WAYYYYYY more Velcro, I’ve had to buy Velcro so the scratching pad/material doesn’t come off.Definitely not worth $30; would like to see this for more like $15-18 unless some quality adjustments are made.

This was easy to put together and my cat loves it right off the bat. I was able to put the inside corner of the metal platform under the corner of a heavy bookcase to really hold it in place. (My cat really digs in and could pull it over otherwise, I think.) I also use them around the corners of my sofa. I've tried cardboard scratching posts and my cat just isn't as interested in them. This one she loves!

No matter where I put it, or how I positioned it, when my cat tried using it, it would tip over. (Once even knocking him in the head.) He just looked at me as if to say “Really?†Total waste of money.

The product itself is fine, well made and solid, unfortunately my cats weren't interested in this kind of scratch post. My advice is try it, but if your kitties turn up their noses like mine, return it. Trust me, they won't change their mind later.
