After reading the terrifying reviews and taking a chance on a good deal, I have to review what a great experience I’ve had.I read reviews that said litter and cat waste gets under the drum. Also, there were lots of complaints about the app connectivity. I have had this unit for 6 months and haven’t had an issue with either of these things yet.I cannot say I have found a single frustration about this litter box after having it for 6 months.Assembly: is easy once you get the hang of it. I take it apart to clean it each time I renew the litter (once per month). It needs a good wipe down periodically as wet waste smears on the walls (expected). The unit itself is larger than I expected, but not a problem since it’s in a closet.My cats size: I have an 18 lb male who fits inside just fine. He is half way between normal and Maine coon size. He is known to spray but doesn’t in this box. The other is a 12 lb tri-pod (missing a front leg) who is able to get in/out/move around in the drum just fine. There was an adjustment period for him where he kept stepping in his waste when exiting the drum but after a few months, he learned the best course of action.My cats reaction: wasn’t great at first. They were freaked out by the sound and movement, never knowing when they could go in. Took a few weeks before they stopped getting startled every time it cleaned.The sound: is not loud at all. It’s what you’d expect when litter is dumping inside a hollow plastic drum. But the physical movement is very quiet. I can be standing 3 feet away from it and not hear it. I do have it tucked in a closet.The dumping function: is great. My large cat likes to brush away the litter and go directly on the mat inside which causes his waste to get stuck to the mat sometimes. I just make sure I give the mat a good scrub every time I clean the unit.The waste bin: I bought a bunch of extra bags for convenience. They fit perfectly and are worth the buy imo. With my two cats who use the device about 5 times per day, I change the bin once per week. It takes two weeks to get full, but if you leave used litter sit around that long it will grow larvae. I shake the drawer once every other day to even out the used litter. It tends to pile up right in the middle of the bin causing the “full” notification to come on prematurely.Litter use: is good! It doesn’t dump any litter, just the waste. I buy a 30lb bag of litter once every two months with two cats.THE AIR PURIFIER IS UNDERRATED!! It smells great, truly cancels the urine smell (I use unscented world’s best cat litter). It has a light on it so it’s VERY HELPFUL when cleaning the inside of the drum, togglable from the app and the device.The litter catch mat: is also underrated. It helps knock off the litter from the cat paws and reduces the amount of litter tracked around the house. I sweep right in front of the mat once every three days and that’s barely necessary. It comes with little stickies on the corner to secure it to the floor that didn’t work well for me. I tucked the mat under the front of the machine and that holds it in place just fine. Also, easy to clean with bleach and doesn’t harbor a smell.The app: is a little glitchy sometimes, but does everything it’s supposed to. It notifies you every time the waste bin is full. You can easily put it in maintenance (cleaning) mode, dumping mode, clean, light, level the litter, right from the app. It keeps track of which cat goes to the bathroom according to weight (thankfully mine weigh different). Sometimes when the litter is one it’s final leg, it is heavier as it has absorbed some waste, and throws off the machine’s ability to select a pet. You just have to choose the pet (based on weight) if you want it to properly record.Cleaning: the unit is easy. I use Lysol wipes to get rid of any remaining waste on the walls. The litter emptying function is great. It truly dumps every ounce of litter out of the drum and into the waste bin. The tray where the litter sits is removable and easy to clean.Update: April 2024After such satisfaction with this unit, I bought a second one so I have one for each cat.

I purchased this litter box a little over a month ago after reading many good reviews. The majority of the reviews also favorably compared the litter box to Litter Robot 3 which I was also considering.Pros:- The device does work and is capable of efficiently sifting through litter and poop clumps and depositing them in the trash bin automatically. There are also many different settings you can use. It is convenient to simply remove the liner and throw it out.Minor annoyances:- Occasionally the machine will display a cat in the litter box alert and not clean. Usually it will reset on its own or I have to manually press the button on the machine. It’s annoying but not a dealbreaker.Cons:- The machine is very cumbersome to fully clean. You can do weekly maintenance by wiping down the inner drum with a cleaning wipe which is fine, but to deep clean it fully with water is very awkward given the size and numerous nooks and crannies.- There is a design flaw with the inner liner. I had read several reviews regarding urine leaking and collecting on the bottom of the device. At the time I thought it may have been a rare occurrence and not typical of most users’ experience. However, I suspect that this is happening on most devices and just may have not been detected by others since the device otherwise works well. The liner is supposed to be replaceable- however, by making it replaceable there is a gap between the plastic edge of the liner and the casing. This allows for urine to seep through the gap and leak on the underside of the machine. If allowed to accumulate, it can cause a horrible urine smell. I didn’t realize this was happening until after the first week of use when I noticed a smell from the litter box and discovered this leak to my horror. I contacted customer service and they first stated it was a problem with the liner and sent a replacement. The replacement took 2 weeks to arrive since it was coming from China. Replacing the liner didn’t solve the problem which is when I figured out why it’s leaking. The support team then recommended tape and told me they would send it, to arrive in 2-3 weeks. Not sure why a) they didn’t send it in the first place and b) why I have to fix a $600 machine with tape.- Minimal customer support. You take a risk buying this device because the support team is located in China. The customer service is not comparable to most US companies- eg, offering to replace the unit, offer partial refunds, etc.Overall:The device works fairly well but has a fundamental design flaw that has to be fixed with tape. This is pretty ludicrous for $600. The customer service is located in China and any replacement parts take at least 2 weeks to come to the US. I would have returned the device and tried the Pura X, but customer service assured me their solution would work (it didn’t) and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. By the time the replacement part arrived, I was outside the 30 day Amazon return window. I didn’t have any issues with internet connectivity as some other reviews have mentioned. If I had known about this design flaw, I would not have bought this and instead tried the Pura X based on reviews. Hope this helps.UPDATE: Tape did not solve the problem, the machine still leaks. My guess is there are numerous defect devices where the casing seams are not watertight and allow leakage of urine.

I’ve had this litter box for a couple months now and it’s been a game changer for my 18yo domestic shorthair. It is completely silent (aside from the sound of the litter moving) when cleaning.LITTER WASTE BIN: I use pea husk litter which works with the red grate just fine. I will point out that alternative litters like the pea husk, tofu or wood chip ones will fill the waste bin faster due to the way they clump. If you use the standard sand which has more compact clumps, I have found that the bin will in fact last 15 days for ONE cat if the bin bag is put in properly.CLEANING THE BOX: The first time my cat used the box, she wasn't sure about it and peed slightly outside which resulted in a puddle of pee collecting between the rotating sphere and the bottom. However, this machine is very easy to take apart and clean. The mess and the box were cleaned in under 20 mins and there hasn’t been a single problem since. There are labels for how to put the box back together. My cat does pee directly downwards and not horizontally/on the sides of the box, so I personally have had no issues with the liner.APP CAPABILITIES: Since I only have one cat, tracking is not a problem. However, I do find that the app will sometimes not recognize my cat if her weight changes at all. If you have multiple cats, and one may be on a weight loss/gain diet, you may have trouble tracking who is using the box. Otherwise, the app works great, giving me a push notification anytime the waste bin needs changing, telling you how much time is left on the deodorizers and when they run their cycles. I set the box to clean 15 minutes after my cat leaves the box since sometimes she likes to do her business in 2 parts.DEODORIZER: This will not spray when your cat is in the box. It also does not have a strong scent that will scent the litter in any way that may disturb your cat either. The app will tell you when it goes off and does a wonderful job at eliminating odours. I have the box in a small space with no windows nearby and I have never had a problem with the smell, even when the bin was full.Overall this is a great way to ensure that busy pet owners can have peace of mind about your cat(s) having a clean box every time they go, and makes it easier for those who don’t have the ability to clean it multiple times per day.

I was hesitant because i wasn’t sure i’d receive the new version. Thankfully it was the new version, it comes with everything mentioned and in the picture. It also comes with the clay mesh, and the plastic cover attachment to empty the litter. So far so good.EDIT: i have been having alot of Odor coming out of the litter box, i have done hours upon hours of research and no one seems to have this issue, and the people who did were told to check the sealed door to the waste bin. I have been cleaning it literally every 2 days with detergents and whatnot… i must have gone through 3 10L litter bags changing litter and nothing changed the odor was always so strong. Upon taking the drum out and checking.. the “sealed” door was tilted and it wasn’t closed all the way there was a gap from the left side between the waste bin and sealed door. I have returned and made a new order for a new unit in hopes that this was just a manufacturing fault. Otherwise this “sealed door” is not sealed at all.

Mi idea era ya no batallar con estar limpiando el arenero a diario o cada ciertos días y buscar una forma de eliminar los olores, este arenero llegó a facilitar eso. Al principio se me hizo muy caro y me sentía indecisa por los comentarios pero hasta el momento es la mejor inversión que pude hacer. Sólo me preocupo de retirar la bolsa del recipiente cada 2 semanas (aprox), no se desperdicia arena como decía en otros comentarios pero creo que eso va a depender de la marca que uno use, yo use una de PETKIT y Scoop Away y todo bien, y lo mejor de todos ya no mas olores.

Received the latest revision with updated drum, my cat has started using it and so far so good. The air purifier and ability to weigh your cat via the PetKit app is very smart. My only concern is the lifespan and reliability of sensors etc but I guess time will tell. So far worth its money in gold
