Your cart is empty.These polished Petoskey stones can range from 3/4" to 1.5" across. Photos are for representation only. Each piece is unique. Petoskey stones are a variety of Calcite. They were formed by the fossilization of ancient coral, Hexagonaria. The coral lived in shallow waters and today's fossil often includes ancient silt and mud. Petoskey Stones are found on many beaches of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, as well as in rock quarries from Travers City to Alpena. The honeycomb patterned stone has a hardness from 4 to 5 and is the official Michigan State Stone.

I was a bit worried about not getting a good specimen of this stone, and it was lovely. I sent it as a gift to a friend in Ireland, and he was really pleased. Very much worth the price and shipping.

There is nothing wrong with the stone.. it's fantastic. However, shipping took way too long. I ordered things that came from China that took less time to get here. Being as these rocks are found in Michigan and I was ordering the delivery to Minnesota I thought it would come in time for Christmas. Ordered on December 4th 2024. Received the stone January 8th 2025.

Nicely polished rock, but it was smaller than I anticipated. Not exactly worth the money in my opinion.
