Easy to install. Pets love it. Great value for the price.

Needed a replacement for one and wanted to get one that had typical flap size in the event anther would be needed in the future. That way would not have to replace t he entire unit.

Before this we used potty pads regularly due to a busy schedule and not always catching the dogs cues to be let out. We just moved and decided potty pads were not coming with us. We got this and installed it immediately before the dogs even came to the new house and they took to it almost immediately! It took very little training and by the third day there was not a single accident and they haven’t had any issues since. This has literally changed our lives for the better. It has eliminated so much extra work and cleanup with not having to clean potty pads or the little accidents that don’t quite make it on the potty pads all day every day!!!My only complaint at all is the snap on door doesn’t seen very secure. We have come up with a temporary solution to keep it from being able to be pushed off the door from the outside but this is a big concern for safety and being away from home. It just snaps in place so it can be easily pushed from the outside and fall right off. We have tested it and it’s a terrible concept. Hopefully this can be modified for future models as this is a necessary safety feature.

I knocked off one star because the description says the small door will work for pets up to 15 lbs. Well, it was too small for my 15 lb dog. Way too small, actually. But it was no problem to send it back and order a medium door. It's for a screened in back porch. Can't say for sure how weather proof it is, but we have not had a problem with rain coming in. Not yet, anyway. Also can't rate ease of installation, as my son-in-law installed it. I probably could have done it myself, but he used to work for a glass company, and they did pet doors all the time and he is pretty much an expert at it. But it sure is a handy thing to have, for my dog and for my cat both. Now I can leave the cat on the porch day or night and he can come and go as he pleases. Don't need a litter box, and he never messes on the porch now that he's not stuck on it. Dog stays in the house at night and most of the day, but my wife and I can sit on the back porch and he can come in or go out as he pleases. Took hardly any time to train either animal to use the door. It fits well, seems very sturdy, flap is holding up well, and is replaceable whenever it wears out. Highly recommended, just don't order a small door for a 15 lb dog.

I installed this pet door to our back porch storm door for our cat and dog about three months ago. I did not take the door down as recommended in the directions and didn't have any issues. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get the door back up. It's a 15 year old storm door. I'm a female, I do a lot of the D.I.Y. work around the house, but by no means am I experienced with power tools, but this was easy to install. I had zero issues. I traced the template with a sharpie and used the saw to cut through the metal door that is wood on the inside. It only took about an hour from start to finish. I do wish the flap was clear. It took our cat and dog weeks to feel comfortable using the door. Initially I had to duct tape the flap open. After a few weeks, I took the tape off. It took them a few more days to get used to it. They still seem concerned about what is on the other side because the flap isn't clear, but they use the door. I love how it's magnetic and closes all of the way and keeps bugs off of our screened in-porch. I caulked around it when I was done to weatherproof it, to keep the wood on the inside of the door from getting wet and rotting. I purchased the small size door, it fits my 15 pound Westie and 12 pound cat perfectly with extra room. Mrs. Eric B.

If you're not a "handy man" or familiar with wood or metal hole cutting on doors or walls get someone who knows how to:1. Use a drimmel, miter, or skill saw, to cut a rectangle that's on the pattern in the box for the door.2. Measure for accuracy more than once.3. Silicone around the doggie door for air leaks and any places that would become loose over time after the doggie door is installed. These things are important or this doggie door to be a great investment and the dog does not get any bigger!

Easy to install with the write tools. Medium - Perfect for a Spoodle dog . Magnetic flap gets a dirty therefore loses some grip at times. Glad to know replacement flaps are available in future. Recommended product and brand. AAA+

If I knew how easy it was to install and how quickly the dog would use it, I would have gotten this months ago. Now I don't have to let the dog out in the morning and during the day to do his business. After installation, had to use treats to get him to go through it the first few time, and days later, he just jumps through it. He even sticks his head through it to see what the weather is like outside. As we have racoons in our area, the cover works great. We put it on at night, and easily take it off in the morning. Probably next year I will upgrade to the door with the chip detector as it's by the same company and can easily be switched with this one.
