This replaces two meters I had been using. It's so much easier to get the TDS and pH at the same time.Easy to use and to calibrate the pH with the supplies provided.

This tester isn't much more expensive than previous I've purchased, but is so much better. The previous models I have purchased needed constant recalibration, while this one doesn't. I still check for accuracy before every test, it's just nice to not have to recalibrate with every use.

Works just fine ,and I like that I can put in a new battery when this one goes kaplunk. The ones that have a built internal battery are a waste of $ because when that battery goes kaplunk you can't install a new battery and have to throw it out ,and that's waste of $.This models readings are on par with my other meters ,maybe off by .01 which is ok as no meter is perfect at this price range ,and this come with liquid to calibrate .Buy on sale or with a coupon as it can be found cheaper at times.I like this very much ,plus that it has EC too .

This p.h. tester works great. Adjust the p.h. 7, 4, 10, and it has the correct adjustment for a month. Love it.

I recently got a generic hydroponic unit here on Amazon to start growing herbs and veggies like cherry tomatoes. Having done my research, I found out that the pH level of the water is one of the most important factors for healthy growth. I also like fermenting foods like sauerkraut and other pickles using a salt brine, and having the ability to measure pH to prevent harmful bacteria is a plus there as well. So I set out to look for a good pH meter. In my research, I found two types of consumer grade pH meters, one that has the probe hidden beneath the housing, and one that has a probe accessible, like this UIUZMAR. The one that has its probe under the housing is apparently prone to breakage but more importantly, not terribly accurate. What good is a meter if the accuracy is suspect? So I settled on this unit. This pH meter comes with battery already installed and powering up the first thing you want to do is calibrate it. For that, the manufacturer includes three buffering solutions, which you individually mix with a cup of distilled water (it must be distilled, else the calibration will be off). There are six packets, two each of 4, 7, and 10.01 pH. You mix each solution in turn, starting with 4, then 7, then 10.01. Holding down the pH Cal button for five seconds while immersed in the respective solution helps the meter get calibrated. You then wash off the probe with distilled water and proceed to the next buffer solution. Wash it off after the final calibration with the 10.1 and you're ready to go. Oh, BTW, for future calibrations, you can save the buffer solutions in lidded glass jars so you don't have to throw away the buffer solutions after just one use. After calibration, measuring the pH of your particular liquid is just a matter of powering it on and resting the probe in whatever it is you're measuring.Obviously it can vary depending on the kind of plant, but hydroponic recommendations are for a 5.5 to 6.5 pH reading. In my case after adding the hydroponic plant food to my water, my reading came in just in the middle (about 5.9) which gave me confidence in my growing conditions. I'll continue to use this meter to make sure the pH doesn't go out of range. Very pleased with this prosumer-grade meter.

I bought a new reverse osmosis water system for my home, because we have well water, and the quality right out of the well is awful, so we needed to make sure that the filtering system was performing well, or at least doing a good job, and this little tools helps us see the actual condition of the water. I also sampled some other waters, including the bottled ones and the ones we can buy from the supermarket, and all the results varied and were consistent when the test was repeated, so yes, this little inexpensive device will help you and give you very good reliable results.

I suppose a bare bones, poorly written manual goes with a lot of products these days, and this one certainly follows that pattern. Therefore, if you don't know how to use one of these devices already, you should likely order one from a national provider. Otherwise, if you're comfortable with one of these and just want one that works relatively well, this will fit the bill. I use it for measuring swimming pool pH. Good results in less than 30 seconds.

The meter arrived well packaged, and worked right out of the box. It uses four LR44 button batteries, which were already installed. I didn't immediately calibrate it, but it's readings were comparable to my everyday meter. The backlit display is very easy to read. The Temp and PH readings display to one decimal place, but that should be sufficient for my use.It provides fast, accurate readings - exactly what I want from it.
