Our daughter bought a Bird Buddy for us for Christmas and we have really enjoyed it. We added this perch a couple weeks later and the birds have really loved it and needed it.

Item comes with protective covering which needs to be removed before installing. Attach perch with provided screws. Larger birds need this attachment.

I have an original Bird Buddy. This fits well, but whenever a bird larger than a cardinal sits on it, it falls off.

It fits. But the one I received was unfinished, only painted on the edges, and the material looks like compressed fiber board. I suspect it won't last long outdoors.

More birds came to feeder once I attached to platform on bird buddy. Easy to install.

Fit on my Bird Buddy feeder fine in terms of screwing it in. Seems solidly made. Most birds seem able to grip onto it. Only serious problem is that that there is a 2-3 mm gap between the inner most standing slat and the Bird Buddy unit. I saw an Eastern Blue Bird get its tarsus (i.e. toe) stuck in the gap. It freaked out (I would have too), as it struggled to escape. Saw the whole thing close up on the camera feed. It was able to finally get itself loose.I solved the issue by putting a piece of scotch tape over the area to keep their toes from slipping into the crack. I could see a bird getting injured due to the issue. They might rip their toe off. If you don't monitor the feeder sufficiently, I could even see a bird dying if it was stuck long enough.
