I really want to give this 5 stars, but it unfortunately does not fit my main violin. My backup violin is a Glasser Violin which is a little thinner. It works perfectly there. The sound output is great. I even used it on a cheap electric violin that I have since the active pickup does not work well. This sounded better than the active pickup. If I could make this fit my main violin, I'd give it 5 stars.

Great solution for acoustic violins. You might need to modify your bridge to made the peizo fit. DO NOT FORCE IT! Those bridges are fragile, and can be easily broken. Make sure that you sand the slot carefully, and make sure that it is not too tight or too loose. Alternately you can attack it to the body another creative way, or have a professional install it for you. I would recommend using it with a pre amp for a strong signal.

I haven't compared it with other more expensive pickups, but for the price it's definitely worth it. You may have to adjust your bridge wings to fit it in. Sounds good, but you'll definitely want EQ of some sort.
