this fit perfectly and was a plug-in play for my Toyota. I’m super happy with the speaker even though it’s not a super high-quality speaker it’s still sounds amazing and gives you that extra base that you need. there’s an amazing video on YouTube that tells you exactly how to plug and play this and the screws lineup perfectly and it wasn’t more than two hours of labor.

I have this wired to an aftermarket amp in my car’s factory subwoofer location. This 8 inch sounds amazing! What I like about this woofer is the ability to go down to 20hz and beyond without bottoming out. It also looks awesome with the flat branded cone and the double rubber ring around it. Anyone looking to upgrade a factory 8 inch, this is exactly what you need to buy. Use the factory wiring or add an amplifier for extra hearing loss like I did 😜

Let me guess. You bought a direct fit Skar Audio subwoofer box for a Toyota Tacoma and the sub sucks. Yep, us too. This is a direct replacement and takes that small salamander of a subwoofer from Skar Audio and turns it into a Godzilla beast with this Pioneer speaker. Simple to swap and wow you will love it. Just get it, trust me. That’s why you are here anyways, this is the the fix for the Skar Audio sub.

It may the box but the base hits more for rap/hip hop. I was looking for more of a punchier base sound for rock. Works well with factory radio.

Bought this to replace my worn out JBL sub in my 2010 Toyota Tundra with the sub behind the seat. Fit perfectly in the factory box and wired right up. Base is great too. Not too much, just enough for this 40 yr old.

I built two custom sealed subwoofer enclosures for underneath the back seat of my truck out of MDF and fully sound-deadened. One enclosure has an Infinity 12-in shallow mount subwoofer, and the other one has this Pioneer 12-in shallow mount sub. When I isolate each side, the Infinity doesn't perform any better or worse than this Pioneer. They're both being driven by a Taramps amp pushing about 200 W RMS per channel. They're both about equal. Either one would be a good bet for your project. I like to mix & match speakers in my systems, because I feel like it gives a fuller sound covering a broader range of frequencies, as each speaker typically performs better in some areas than others. With these I find that they're more or less equal to the competition in the same price range, so I think you're just as good with either choice.Frequency wise these really get down low and hit the deepest notes in my music. You'd probably need a larger enclosure to get down below 30 HZ, but I think these pretty much touch the bottom. Because I'm running sealed enclosures rather than ported larger enclosures, I don't know how well these perform in ported boxes, and I understand that they're not designed for those, because they have a shorter throw (being shallow-mount.) But for my sealed enclosures, they sound incredible. I'm happy with the hundred bucks I spent.

Found a video on YouTube from Toyota and Dodge Garage that was a huge help in removing the interior panel. The old sub surround was dry rotted and needed to be replaced in my 2008 4Runner Sport. I bought this sub due to price and the fact that the mounting holes line up with the original so no extra drilling. The original sub has foam behind the sub mounting frame to seal it, but this sub does not have that. I used caulk, but I would get speaker seal if I did it again. As for performance, the original sub actually went lower, but this Pioneer is a little tighter and cleaner. It's kind of strange, on some songs this sub will provide more bass, but other times it's barely there. Also, volume needs to be higher to get the same bass. I assume the OEM was just more efficient than this one. It's a decent replacement, but if you don't mind drilling holes, one of the other shallow depth subs might be better if you are looking for an actual upgrade.

Great price, one day delivery and a woofer that rocks.I decided not to go for some exotic, "high end", expensive subwoofer and I didn't regret that decision. You can't go wrong with Pioneer. I was looking for 800 wats rms subwoofer with double 4 ohm voice coils. After days of research, I decided to buy two of these. My reasoning - both of them cost half of the price of cheapest decent double voice coil 4ohm subwoofer and you get double the cone area and two independent woofers. The only minus is space, which I have enough since I switched my hatch privacy screen with MDF plate which hold all of my rear speakers, including subwoofer, with trunk as a box. So, I bought one for test and, after instaling it decided that I don't need another one. I have bass I was looking for and 400 wats RMS left in my amplifier to play with.

Even tough the sun is concealed behind the rear seat in my truck, it gives an amazing effect, love this 10” pioneer Sub.
