My original Nikon brand shutter release stopped working after four years so even the branded cables don’t last forever. This is a great cheap replacement. Works perfect. Original had a white dot to help with aligning the connection. But you can paint your own white dot on this one if you want.

Product arrived faster than expected and was packaged well. Have only used it twice so far with my Nikon D-850 but the remote works as advertised, shutter release is fast and accurate. (Haven't tried the locking feature yet, so that function remains to be seen...) So far, I would recommend the product. The tiny Instruction Sheet that comes with it is pure comedy: printed in absolutely microscopic type, in disgracefully translated Chinglish.

This little, inexpensive gadget does just what I want: triggers my shutter without having to touch the camera when it is on my tripod. Really nice to have for low light work that requires long shutter speeds.

After trying another off camera shutter release and not having success with that one, I found this one to work beautifully.
