The paddles alone are worth the $23 since a single plastic paddle usually runs $5-8; everything else is just bonus stuff. The paddles and bonus stuff are all surprisingly well made. The net is great, the case is pretty solid, too (it holds two standard ping pong balls). Some people complain about the ping pong balls, but they are normal, standard ping pong balls. The mini birdie is really rugged for what it is - suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It's a hit with the family and will definitely help the kids pass time during rainy days. I highly recommend it.

This kit is perfect for just about anywhere you want to play ping pong. I purchased this kit for a class I work with that are Special Needs. It opens up their communication skills, hand eye coordination, and is used with APE ( adaptive physical education). The kids love it!

We bought this as an activity set saved in the car. Whenever we go to park or other outdoor places, kids can play several games with this one set. Easy to carry . The grandparents can easily play with kids using the set as well. Love it

This was super easy to set up and play. I like that each of the paddles have their own colors. The paddles themselves feel sturdy but light. The only reason I give it four stars is because the net struggles to stay up. The middle, not matter how hard I pull both ends, seems to sag. Other than that, my family has enjoyed it!

The paddles are definitely plastic, with no bouncy rubberized feel or ball action, so not really good for playing ping-pong. The portable net is pretty handy though. You certainly wouldn't have to worry about leaving any of it out in the rain...

I know this set is technically supposed to be a "cheapie", but we've honestly had so much fun with it already.I'm a pretty experienced table tennis player and have several relatively expensive paddles in my collection. My kids always want to play, but I'm hesitant to let them use even the cheap versions of my nice paddles, so I ordered these just to give them a chance to bat around. The funny thing is, I really enjoy hitting with them because it forces me to hit more conservatively and more under control. It's a good way to even out a skill differential if I'm playing someone who isn't as experienced or aggressive. Instead of my competition level paddle, I'll just grab one of these to even things out. It's a fun challenge!Durability wise, they're basically bomb-proof. They're thick plastic and I imagine they're virtually indestructible. They're legit paddles, not toys, so they have decent heft to them. The surprising thing to me was actually the net. I've had a few of these and they've always been ridiculously cheap and wobbly. This one had some impressively strong springs in both the net retraction device and the clamps themselves. It gripped the table with some authority! For the price, this is an absolute steal. It's great for a set of paddles that you can leave at the church youth group room or rec room and not worry too much about them getting damaged because they're so tough. The net can withstand a fair bit of punishment as well and actually holds a decent amount of tension.Love it!
