Great product for the price. Came packaged very well with no dents or defects. Fit was true to the product description. Looks much better than the older style it replaced. Easy to clean as well. Installation was simple and straight forward (although it is a bit heavy for just one person to move around safely without flexing or bending).Customer support is very good as well. I had a hard time aligning one of the doors properly and noticed that the top hinge pin holding the two bifold panels together was broken and was only making contact with the two upper-most hinge tabs causing excessive play and sagging. Support responded within a day and I had a replacement part within 5 days. Completely painless support experience which is rare these days. The only thing is I wish I had opted for the large size. My fireplace opening is exactly 36" on the nose, so I ordered the medium. The dimensions are true, and it does fit. However, with only 3/4" overlap on both sides this made filling the small gaps between the brick and doors frame a bit tricky. With the larger size it would have been much easier to fill those gaps with insulation strips having more surface area to wedge the insulation against. If your brick face is very uneven and you are right between sizes, I'd recommend going with the larger size because of this.I also opted to add additional insulation to the back. The frame barely gets warm to the touch, and even the screen doors are safe to touch while a fire is going. No need for gloves unlike the older style with the iron pull curtains. I've only had about 10 fires since installing but no issues at all. When it comes time to remodel again in a few years I will be purchasing another from Pleasant Hearth again.

I just bought a new house and the fireplace was so incredibly dated with an old brass glass door. I debated trying to tape the glass and spray painting it with a high heat spray, but opted to buy this instead when I saw the affordable price and read the reviews. The local fireplace store had identical doors like this for well over $500, which I was not willing to pay.As far as if it is easy to install, I have no idea as my contractor installed it for me. However, I forgot to provide him with the insulation, so currently, it has no insulation. I am not sure if this is an issue or not, so if someone knows, please comment. I am assuming it will just cause a draft. However, I was all about the look for right now and the doors are absolutely beautiful, and were just what I was looking for to finish my diy fireplace remodel! Now, I haven't lit a fire yet, because it is still early fall with temperatures in Maryland between 80-90, but as far as aesthetically pleasing? It is beautiful! It was the perfect size and perfect piece for my fireplace. I will say you definitely need a hammer drill if you are going to install this. It feels very secure after he put it in and he assured me it is not going anywhere. The pictures are before and after. I really liked the way it turned out and absolutely am in love with the doors! I did read in other reviews, the doors must be open while a fire is lit. Just an FYI, as I know we skim and don't read every review.Just make sure you measure. For this size fireplace, I ordered the medium!

When we purchased our house in 2017, the fireplace had a 1980's model exhaust blower insert. It was old, but the blower was definitely a benefit. I don't play around with the safety of my fireplace or chimney. They get a full video inspection each year, so there was no reason to dispose of this old unit since it worked. But, January 2020, the blower decided to quit working. (The first clue 2020 was not going to be a good year). We could not get an electrician to work on it because it was so old. We dragged the 400 lb monstrosity to the curb, which the local scrap collector actually picked up around 3 a.m. We were left with an empty firebox. We decided to purchase a fireback to try to radiate the heat into the room. Not bad, however, I was did not like the scare at 2 a.m. one morning when our Nest Smoke Detector woke me up announcing smoke in my living room! I rushed downstairs to find smoke billowing into the room from a smoldering log thanks to a down draft. We had to get a fireplace door.We opted for the this fireplace door model because we liked the bi-fold doors and how they folded out of the way. It arrived fairly quickly and in surprisingly good shape. One corner of the box was ripped up a bit, but, thankfully, the company actually cares about their product, the fireplace door unit was unscathed. My husband was the muscle, while I read the directions, step-by-step and installed the doors. I was very happy that the doors were perfect size so we did not have to use any alternate sizing methods.Long story short, perfectly easy installation! It took me, with the strength of my husband, only a little over an hour to install. I took my time reading each step and studying what it was telling me to do, even looking up what a "lintel" is. I have never installed a fireplace door before. If someone has done this before, I would bet it could be done in maybe 45 minutes easy. The doors look beautiful. They are very sturdy. The glass doors fold nice and flush against the unit. The door handles are very sturdy and aligned perfectly with the predrilled holes. The magnets pull the door closed within a half an inch of being closed so there is no risk of them being blown open by a down draft. The mesh screen looks very nice and, despite what other reviews mentioned, they remain cool even after two hours of a roaring fire. We thought we would have to use a pot holder since another review mentioned they get hot. I am very happy to say ours don't even get warm. Again, the magnets in the mesh screen pull the screens closed within half an inch of being closed and hold them nicely. No concerning gaps with any of the doors. We are beyond thrilled with our purchase. I love being able to close the doors after the fire is out at the end of the night and not worry about any down draft blowing smoke. Very easy to install and and beautiful, too. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone that would like to update their fireplace.

Unit feels very sturdy and well-made, would definitely recommend. Nearly made a critical mistake by purchasing it prior to tile install, only to learn afterwards we had a 29.25†opening instead of the required 30†width. We were able to make it work by sliding in the lower anchor pieces before mounting it, instead of after. Highly recommend using YouTube to watch an install video, much more help than the install instructions - my only complaint.

First off, the glass door came with one of the mesh screen's hinge tap broken. I called the manufacturer and the service rep promptly setup a mesh screen replacement for me, no questions asked.Otherwise, everything worked out and very functional. The install took a bit of finessing but was expected. As for the looks: stylish without ostentatiousness is how I'd best describe it, while integrating seamlessly into the fireplace surround that I built. I would definitely consider their products again for my next fireplace surrounds in the rest of the house.

I had to modify this product so that I could use it in a way for which it was never intended. I needed to recess it into a fieldstone fireplace. To recess it properly, I had to cut off all the folded edges so that I could push it into channels I had cut into the stone. The end product looks great and the doors work well. I like that the doors are bi-fold and fold back flush, so it is almost impossible to bump them and break them. The mesh doors make it almost impossible for embers to escape and seal easily with a magnet, though I have noticed that the screens are well covered now with soot even though I keep the fire well back in the fire box. These doors come with a slider to provide ventilation to keep lots of air around the fire. This makes absolutely no sense as the Instructions state the doors must not be closed if there is a fire. If the glass doors are open, how is a small, slit opening going to help? Just a useless sales feature. In all, this set of glass fireplace doors looks great and does the job well. I am very pleased.

Great purchase overall. We bought and installed this two months ago in our home. It worked great at revamping the old fireplace hole. The packaging is good and arrived quickly. There were no scuffs on the paint. It looks and feels well made. You will most likely need to drill in the brick or ciment to anchor this in on the sides and top. We bought the heat resistant sealer as well to seal the top and sides, and a ciment drill bit on here too to drill the holes to screw the long bolts in. Very nice upgrade!
