I have a crack in my basement wall and need to know if it's getting bigger or staying the same. This crack monitor will tell me that over time. There are detailed instructions with photos on how to install it and it even comes with a sheet to record your findings every month. I plan on taking photos of the crack monitor every month so I can visually see if the crack is getting bigger. Overall, I'm pleased with the construction and the instructions on how to use it. I highly recommend it if you, too, need to see if your crack is getting bigger.

Instructions to install are pretty straightforward and installed on a drywall wall that exhibited a crack that extended from the corner of a door frame following a recent earthquake. Installation was pretty easy and is good way to monitor the crack should another earthquake of similar size hits the building. If anything, I can see if the structure is getting worse. Time will tell. I can almost guarantee another quake as I live in the North Coast of California in Humboldt County. This isn't going to fix the issue, but at least you can monitor it.
