Item is bigger than I thought. But I was able to stuff it in the cavity of the fan assembly. Otherwise the electrical part of the unit workroom fine.

ordered this to replace a failed start up capacitor on a 20 year old floor/oscillating fan. Was something fun to tinker with and completely fixed my problem (fan would move @ .0000000001 MPH), now starts up just fine. This does have 2 different micro farad ratings so you can use either, or combine them (add the values). The most important thing was finding a matching capacitor with the right voltage ratings. The capacitor I replaced only needed 2.5 uf, so using the 3uf wire worked just fine.

I am so happy with this capacitor! It works like a charm! I have a ceiling fan that I was hesitant to part with because they no longer make design nor the style and color. My husband, willing to see what was wrong with it, found that the capacitor had burnt and the fan was no longer spinning. He replaced it with this capacitor and immediately the fan started to work. We were so excited that we were not going to have to replace this beautiful fan! Thanks Amazon for caring the variety of products you do!
