Update 04/25/24: Back to 5 stars. Customer service bent over backwards to send me another CarPlay screen. This one works fine and as in my original review below, is easy to set up and has a bright clear screen. All controls are clear and the screen is easy to adjust. A good buy with excellent customer service.Update: I reduced my rating from 5 stars to two stars. This is quite a drop but it worked perfectly for 3 days and deserved 5 stars. Now it doesn’t work without disconnecting the phone and reconnecting it. It will then work until the car is shut off. After the car is restarted, it doesn’t connect unless you disconnect and reconnect the phone again. Very disappointed.Original review:Pros: Works very well and is easy to set up. It works through your phone through the phone’s Bluetooth connection to the radio, so your car entertainment system must be on at a comfortable beginning volume and your phone must have a Bluetooth connection to your cars system. Once connected you have a nice screen showing some of your iPhone apps. The photos aren’t great because of screen reflection but the screen is bright, adjustable, and easy to read with good touch.Cons: the only complaint I have is that the media player only plays thru your cars system if you turn off CarPlay. Which is a real inconvenience. Also, The internal speaker very poor.Despite the 2 cons, this is an Excellent buy.

When it's working the unit functions well and overall I was happy with the performance. One odd function is you can set the dimming to happen automatically, but it only works with carplay and not android auto. Having had this unit for almost a year, it now randomly will not work for a time, and then start working again. Additionally, once just before it stopped working I happened to touch the USB plug and it was quite hot. I may have received a lemon, but because of my experience, I cannot recommend this unit.The company reached out to me after the above review they offered a partial refund and suggested using the supplied power adapter. I tried the included power adapter and the unit has been working correctly ever since. I didn't accept the refund as the unit does work now. It's disappointing that a standard USB power adapter works erratically as it is an easy replacement should something go wrong. I'm raising the review for 2 to 4. It's far from perfect, but for the cost it does perform reasonably well.

So far so good. It paired up easily, and now syncs up every time I get the car. After about 15 seconds of the startup screen, another 15 seconds of the main screen, it automatically opens my last used app - usually the Waze - on Android Auto. Equally good sound quality from the audio input jack and the FM transmitter, so I'm using the FM with no issues. Overall, the Android Auto works just as well as the factory unit in my wife's car.As far as installation, that will of course vary by individual. The package included a suction cup mount for windshield installation, and a second mount with two sticky back gaskets that seemed to work good enough (time will tell on that). The mount is slightly visible in the pictures, stuck to the top of the opening behind the unit. I also had some commercial Velcro in the house, so I added a little at the two bottom corners. I won't be needing to move the unit, but Velcro works great if it will block an area that may need to be accessed later. So far, so good. I wish I had done this a long time ago.

I’ve always wanted Apple CarPlay and this was the closest cheapest thing I could get to having it. And for the price, I’m not mad, since the quality for Bluetooth is outstanding, and almost better than the AUX, I can tell no difference as an audiophile. A few problems I seem to have with it as I noticed a static feedback every time it turns on, so I have to flick the aux cable connected to the car in order for it to go away. And Granted, the adhesives could be a little stronger, and it does obstruct the view on the dashboard, so it’s doable for entry level Bluetooth and CarPlay capabilities, however, I am considering upgrading for convenience, as there is no easy way to really keep it for my car, especially with the horsepower I got the continually causes it to fall over.

The Screen is bright and big enough to see the navigation maps, it boost up, connects to BT and WIFI very fast, so no waiting for it to load! The price is right! It comes with heavy duty mounting brackets, overall a good product for the price! Customer support is top notch. I recommend this product if you are looking for a simple solution for car play, android auto and navigation features in a single portable solution!

Yes. this is the cheapest option on amazon. NO. you should not buy it. despite what all the other positive reviews are saying they are all wrong. I really truly wanted this product to work as advertised so I could save myself a couple $$ but sadly it’s a garbage product. The product worked as advertised for about 1 hour total and after that apple carplay mode would simply not work whatsoever. I tried all the troubleshooting + multiple factory resets and nothing fixed it. You are MUCH better off spending the extra $30 on a product that will actually function. save urself time and money and do not buy this.

My car is year 2014 and I didn’t upgrade its stock headunit (to touchscreen infotainment) because it’s hard to find a panel frame. Good thing I found this portable Apple carplay device. It’s wireless, easy to pair with my phone, all functions are working and wireless navigation from phone to carplay is responsive.

When you buy this product, make sure to buy a good quality holder because the holder that comes with the item is so bad that you can't depend on it.
