When testing components in/out of the vehicle's electrical system, connect the auxiliary ground wire to the negative pole of the component under test.

Note:

Budget friendly power probe, works great for testing solenoids and other 12v components but the switch is a little fidgety and could use a return to center switch, but overall great product.
