Works great... easy fix to making sure my freezer has power. Recently my gfi blow and I lost power to my freezer in my garage... a $300 loss of all food. I now have this device which I tested and the alarm is loud enough to here in my house.

Needed one for our freezer in a separate garage. Needed to hear through the walls. Plenty loud

Is extremely loud at full setting. Great for knowing if pipe heaters have lost power.

Poor instructions but it seems to work.

This is a good quality cross between a surge suppressor and a power outage alarm. The device seems well made. It plugs in firmly and holds a plugged in cord securely. I didn't see it mentioned in the description, but it is rated at 15A. It claims to be GFI, but I don't see anything on the unit that confirms that. It also claims to protect against surges up to 350 J, but I don't see anything on the unit to confirm that, and I don't want to open it up to check the innards. I am using this after a GFI-protected outlet for an aquarium pump and heater. That GFI sometimes throws, and this alert will allow us to know when the pump has stopped because of the power being out. In testing, it works as described. In the video, they show the maximum volume reaching about 125 dB at the source. We normally test at a distance of 1-meter, but companies can do whatever they want. This did measure 119 dB at 1-meter, so it is as loud as they have claimed. The feature set is quite rich, allowing for 6 different alert tones and 4 different volumes. It also has lights that indicate power status, and even whether voltage is high or low. This is a really nice alarm, and hopefully does provide both GFI and surge protection as well.

I set it up in my kitchen then unplugged it to move it to the garage for the freezer I keep there. Holy crap, this thing is loud! It went off as soon as I unplugged it. I tested it again when in the garage and I went inside. I could hear it from the second level of my home with it in the garage. This will be perfect for letting me know when power is out to my freezer so I can fix the problem before I lose any food.

This is a good alarm to warn you if power goes out to any device. I use it for a refrigerator/freezer outlet that is on a GFCI outlet, and they can trip causing loss of AC power. It has an internal battery that powers the alarm when AC power goes out. There are several alarm patterns, so you could use them on multiple devices and know which lost power by the pattern. There are 4 sound-level settings and a SILENT setting, so you can customize the level for your space. There is a charging cycle when you first connect it to power. This lasted an hour or two for me. After that, there is just a green light that tells you there is AC power present. I would recommend this device for monitoring AC power to your critical device.

Must have if you keep large amounts of meat or medicines in a freezer of any size. While all is good for now, I have tested it and it works GREAT. SUPER LOUD. It's in our cellar and our bedroom is right above it. Yes we can definitely hear it from under there. We live in a rural area prone to outages. We have a generator but even that cannot be enough sometimes. A necessity, definitely.
