Bought for my husband to train grip strength since we both recently took up rock climbing. I was skeptical about the gyroball but it works amazing just as described and as shown in the video. Its really nice quality. Feels solid, lights up, and sounds satisfying. We started with 30 seconds clockwise and 30 seconds counterclockwise and you can really feel the burn. Make sure you try with elbow bent and elbow straight! He also loves the ring grip trainer as well and can train different types of grip on it. Will buy again.

I love this. It’s not a toy but a viable hand and arm exercise machine. I broke my right wrist requiring 3 surgeries, placed an apparatus to hold the broken bones together before stitching them up. My OT assigned me was using this gyroball; it gave me a lot of pain at first although started very slow. I waited until the intensity of the pain of broken bone subsided a bit, picked up the ball again, gradually increasing time and speed. I used thermal heating pad and paraffin waxing, and give a good massage afterwards, which has been very soothing my fatigued hand and arm . It’s been 5 months since I broke the wrist bone; the gyroball has been instrumental for strengthening the broken arm and wrist. I still have a long ways to go before 100% but I am able to put some weight on my wrist, trying to do my planks for 1 minute at a time with a lot of help from my left arm.Regarding the customer service, you can’t ask for better. The first ball got quickly broken and I had to return it. Before even making the trip to return it, a new ball arrived! I am grateful for not having to go through another hassle of arguing over the broken ball on top of stress over pain. Thank you!! ðŸ™

It took me awhile to get the knack of this gyro ball. I'm still working at it; I'm hoping that it will help to strengthen my broken wrist. The size fits my palm well and the weight is more substantial than I expected. It is certainly fun and I love the led lights that encourage me to work with it.

If you can make this work, it is a lot of fun. You have to hold the spring loaded ball and turn it as much as you can. Then when you release it, you start almost rotating your wrist like you’re throwing something. It will start to pick up speed and you get into a rhythm, it will go faster and faster and the gyroscope action is hard to control when you’re holding it. I can only do it about four minutes each hand. If you figure it out, take it around your friends and it will be a blast. I really enjoy it.

I am a physical therapist and grip strength enthusiast. I've used several different power balls over the years and I can honestly say that this is one of my favorites. Other models start with a pull-string or supposedly really fast hand-starting of the wheel (which I have NEVER successfully performed), but the auto-start on this thing is easy and intuitive. Instead of having to re-wind the string if you pull it just wrong or don't get it spinning up on the first try, you can quickly reset and start this ball spinning again.Mass, resistance, and feel in the hand is comparable to most of the other power balls out there, but the auto-start is a game-changer. I've used this with a few of my patients dealing with arm/hand/nerve injuries over the past week or so and they've all been successful getting it started and then getting a good workout with it on the first day; much easier than dealing with the frustration of using the string-started power balls. The nice thing is that because the resistance is derived from the inertia of the spinning ball, you'll only get as much resistance as you have strength to put into it. It won't spin faster than you can make it spin. It can definitely challenge your endurance (great for rehab!) but you're not going to get crazy jacked forearms and hands from just power balls, but they're much more joint and tendon friendly than heavy torsion spring grippers. The only con I've found, if you can call it that, is that it doesn't have a RPM gauge like some power balls do. However, I popped the RPM gauge out of the top of one of my others and put in this and it works great (the little cap on the top has the same design, making it an easy swap). RPM gauges do take up a bit more space in the hand though, so that could be problematic for people with smaller hands. All in all, this is a great spin (ha!) on an old product and a good value.

This is a fun tool to build wrist strength. I got it for myself to help improve strength for rock climbing. Now everyone on the family uses it. It is well designed and lights up different colors for the level of intensity which is motivating and fun. Reasonably priced compared to many. I got the clear and black one.
