I'm painting all the doors in my house and wanted to get something to help me re-install them afterwards. I don't quite understand the design and claims of this door lifter.It has a slick hard surface on the business end that is also curved. Doors slip and slide when using it. Poor design.

The lip of the tool is too small, doesn't support solid wood doors. Difficult to use when supporting hollow wood doors. Would not recomend.

Easily lifts the door and holds in place while screwing hinges.Unfortunately, the door tends to slip off.I roughed up the tip to make it grippier, but it still happens.Almost great!

I purchased this to assist with removing/installing doors at the facilities I work at. I used it on one door, and found the blade that you slide under the door is very slick. The door we were trying to lift kept sliding off the end when we tried to lift it. We were eventually able to get it to work, but it wasn't really any easier than doing it by hand, or with a prybar. I do like the fact that it is weighted to return to normal position, but that doesn't entirely make up for its shortcomings. Not sure I would recommend this for doors... or at least not heavier/ solid core doors like I was using this for.

I’ve been working on replacing all the hinges on all my doors as they were painted over like 3000 times and did not work very well. Have you ever tried to put a door back on the hinges while holding it? It’s not easy. So I had my teenage son try to help me. That was god awful. He’s pulling when I’m saying push. That kind of thing. So I thought there has to be some tool they just holds it up for you. And there was! I put three doors back up today by myself using this tool. So much easier.
