I was repairing some leaky pool lines and needed to replace both return line valves, which were older models of this valve. There is not much to say about a union ball valve. After welding the new fittings in place and testing, the valve works well, which is what I expected.

This was perfect because I was able to swap out all the guts of the old one to the new without cutting & gluing. I was done in literally 10 minutes and I wasn't rushing. How cool is that 😎 My pool plumbing has its pressure restored and no more air bubbles coming out of the returns. God is good!

When the item first arrived I was concerned it was the wrong one. The original picture showed a red handle, and the valve that arrived had a blue handle. Turns out it was the correct size. In case you're wondering, both ends fit directly onto 1 1/2-inch pipe with no coupler needed. The Praher feels like a high-quality unit, and I experienced no leaks. I had been losing about an inch of pool water per day with my old leaky valve, and this one took care of the problem lickety split. The following might be too much information, but my pool guy gave me a hint that saved a ton of headache. There were two pipes/valves that eventually joined into one pipe about a foot above the valves. He told me to cut both pipes and replace both valves since I wouldn't be able to lift and lower the pipe into position if I only cut one pipe (because the remaining pipe would hold everything rigidly in place). He was right, of course, and it took less than an hour to cut the two pipes and install the valve. In my case I just eliminated one of the valves (also on the advice from my pool guy) because we never use it.

Product advertised with red handle, came with blue, not sure the difference but part of the valve was missing (the section that screws on).

My son use this for the pool. It is working awesome. It was less than half the price that would be at the Pool Store.

I had ball valves installed already. I needed the new valves only for the replacement parts. I wish you could only purchase a rebuild kit. The kit would include only a new ball and seals.

Ever since our pool was installed 10 years ago, I have had to fight with our old valves to get them open and closed. I could not believe how easily this valve worked. I can only hope it stays that way. Time will tell, but my old ones never did open well, so this one is off to a good start.
