I've made my own edging veneer (or thicker) and glued it on w/elmers for ages, so I thought I'd try this out. This veneer is well sized, reasonably flexible, and clear wood; it feels a bit coarse, but that just means I get to sand it to the degree of finish I want - oh, and it does come tightly coiled, so be prepared to re-use the strapping tape that holds it together, or have an alternative tape ready; otherwise, it will spring loose, unroll on you, and become another headache to deal with:)It short, though, this little miniproject came out very nicely, so I'm happy to recommend this veneer. No mention of what temperature to set the iron at, so I picked an upper-mid setting, and that seems to have worked well (too hot to touch afterwards, before rolling).I have early 90s style euro-style face frame cabinets, with shelves made of melamine coated chip board.Rather than veneer the edges, they supplied it with plastic U strips that covers the front edges, but they CONSTANTLY get caught on things like sponges. Time to toss the plastic.I also picked up a veneer trimming tool suitiable for 3/4" boards - and that worked equally well - mostly. The J roller and iron I already had.The installation was about as simple as possible - cut roughly to length, center over the board edge, apply the iron to one end to get it 'stapled' down, and then slowly run the rest of the length until you either see glue oozing out, or is too hot to touch (warning - burnt fingers!).After J-rolling it on tight, and letting it cool, I used the trimming tool to zip the veneer edges down to 'perfect' and then sanded the corners and edges to clean bevels, and ran a final sanding over the veneer itself (which is a bit on the coarse side, so needs sanding...bare, it's a splinter magnet.)So, in less than an hour, I have dissasembled the shelves and their contents, cleaned them, installed the banding, sanded smooth, and applied a top coat of stain to protect it, and Done!Nice.Another annoying decison that *someone else* made decades ago, and I've now finally started on fixing the annoying things!!10 more shelves to go....I do recommend holding the boards in a convenient vertical vise or clamp set (I used an old workmate clamping table) as otherwise it'll be a bit too much of a 'rubbing tummy and patting head' excercise - with a (very) hot iron in one hand.

I’ve worked with veneer trim before and the adhesion on this trim takes some patience. There were no instructions included, so I tried a medium heat setting on my iron first, and the trim didn’t stick. I changed the heat setting to high and took a few minutes back and forth on a 12” ply shelf, on repeat, until it stuck. I trimmed the sides and the trim was firmly in place. After going back to it a few hours later to test the stain, the trim was no longer adhered to the plywood on the ends (see pic).I sampled a stain (see attached pic) and it held an even color to the ply, and you can see the wood grain through the finish. Once I spend a little more time with it, I think the trim would be great to cover 5-ply, though the adhesion in my test is far inferior to the veneer trim I’ve used in the past because the adhesion was pretty close to instant.I love that this veneer trim gives ply edges a finished look, I just wish I didn’t have to work so hard at it. I used a standard household iron on the highest setting and spent more time ironing it than I normally would with veneer trim.I recommend the maple trim if you’re specifically working with maple veneer ply, though this trim won’t be my go-to trim because of the extra time it takes to work with it.

This edge banding is very good quality and worked great with a regular clothes iron. The material is perfect color match to the wood. The roll is much cheaper than what you pay at the local hardware store.

I have been going gangbusters on using up some maple plywood I have had sitting around for years. My edgebanding experience is limited, but so far, I have had a roll of really good stuff, and roll of stuff that didn’t seem to take Rubio Monocoat very well.I’m happy to report that this edgebanding took Rubio Monocoat very well. After wiping off the excess, what was left was a consistent amount of absorption. One of the other edgebanding I had used left a mottled mess that took multiple coats to make it less noticeable.

I used this to cover up the edges on a plywood project and it worked very well. There was good adhesion, although I can't speak to the overall longevity. I sealed the entire project with an epoxy topcoat which will lock this edge banding in permanently (regardless of how long the edge banding glue lasts.I'm glad I picked this up

For woodworkers, having good edge banding helps makes things look finished. This one was a good choice. The 50' roll measured 3/4" and had a generous amount of heat sensitive adhesive, just like other high quality rolls. It held well after ironing and the maple color was a good match to other rolls I've used. It was also a nice thickness and was easy to cut. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I got this to do some edge banding on some plywood shelves I have. The wood grain and quality is very good and the glue adhesion is also good. The banding is flexible enough to go around large rounded corners. Its just a bit over 3/4" so there's not much to trim off when you are done with 3/4" plywood but means you have to be very accurate when you apply.
