We followed the instructions for preparing the plank. We cooked 1 # of Norwegian salmon on our Traeger grill. Cooked until temperature was 145 degrees and it was perfect. This was our first using a cedar plank. The plank had little char; will reuse again!

The dimensions are 11 3/4" X 5 1/4" X 3/8". The boards are well finished and are rigid for serving. Last night I prepared a 1 lb piece of Salmon, I estimate this size board would be suitable for 1 to 1-1/2 lbs of fish. I soaked for two hours, and used in in a Weber charcoal (lit by gas) grill. For this try I used the indirect method (coals on either side of the board). I preheated the board face down first to sterilize the board surface prior to contacting the fish. With the grill closed the temperature was about 400 F and I cooked it for 15 minutes. Very little searing to the underside of the board took place using the indirect method, and I will set the coals closer next time. You could easily use the board as a serving board on a dish. The fish was flavorful without being overpowered. For larger cuts of fish to serve four or more (say 2 to 2-1/2 lbs ) you would likely need to use two boards. The pictures show the top pf the board after cooking (and cleaning) for a future reuse.Good instructions were in the burlap packaging, although I did not see them until after I cooked. An excellent product from a US Company that uses quality materials.

I Love my new Cedar Planks!! the reason I gave them a 5 star is because I've priced around our area. the ones I seen are a little cheaper in price, but the quality here is much better!!! I believe you get what you pay for!!! I love the slide in bag to store my planks, very nice. We already cooked on our cedar planks OMG amazing flavor. first we soaked our planks over nite in cool water in the kitchen sink, you will see in the water that the planks will leave a cedar looking water, almost the color of tea. you can smell thecedar while they soak in cool water. Not a bad thing..Just proved to me that it was a true cedar.. We grilled shrimp and salmon.. The planks are pretty sturdy and thick in size.. I highly recommend these planks. Thank you for selling these.. they will make great gifts the family and friends if I need to order more..

Great for grilling salmon. Just a little more expensive than expected.

I received my order quickly. The cedar planks were of fine quality, nice and thick, and large enough to hold a large piece of fish or two or three smaller pieces. The extra thickness of the planks is very nice. My first use of the plank was to grill a couple of good sized pieces of cod filet. After a good soak, I placed the plank in a medium temperature gas grill for about 3-5 minutes, then turned it over and placed the cod filets on the plank. After cooking with the lid closed for about 20 minutes, I checked the internal temperature of the fish and found it to be just over 140 degrees. I removed the plank and fish from the grill, let them sit for about five minutes while I cleaned and rinsed the plank on both sides and placed it to dry. The plank held its shape well and appears to be ready for many more cookings. I am very pleased with this product. These planks are the best cedar planks I have used. I recommend this product very highly. They are excellent for their purpose.

Just got back home from Alaska with a bunch of King salmon that was caught on the Nushagak River. I've been cooking it up on a regular basis on the propane grill. These planks are awesome! The flavor of this King salmon is excellent when cooked straight on the grill. However, when it's cooked on the planks, it just takes it to the whole next level. I find myself eating salmon and not even thinking about anything else to go along with it. So far I've used two planks. One of them I've reused several times. It's getting pretty charred up on the bottom and sides but I can't tell any difference in the flavor it's producing. The planks are large enough to hold plenty of food. I've been cooking approximately 2 lb filets from 20+ lb salmon and they fit on the plank no problem. Only downside is, the next time I purchase fish at a restaurant, I'm almost certain I'll be disappointed because it will probably be far inferior to what I can make on the plank at home.

These are thicker than Weber and most commodity planks, but generally not as long. They come in a fancy bag but seem like they have been on the shelf for a long time. This makes them less fragrant. Not worth the big price premium.

I haven't used them yet but the quality seems alot better compared to other cedar Planks I have purchased. I really liked the bag they came in. They also seem to have more of an aroma than other cedar Planks I have purchased. I'll write another review after I use them. This is a follow up review. I used the Cedar Planks from Primal Grilling and also used some other cedar planks. I soaked them both for about 24 hours. The other cedar planks were thinner, started to bow and they caught on fire rather quickly. The Primal Cedar Planks did not bow or catch on fire. I also noticed the food cooked on the Primal Cedar Planks had more of the cedar flavor and tasted better. I will definitely be buying the Primal Grilling Cedar Planks again. Do yourself a favor and don't by the cheaper thinner cedar planks.
