This little doodad has changed the way I feel about zesting oranges instantly. It saves me time AND effort. The blades are sharp, and requires less pressure than I'm accustomed to applying to historically, which means that I not a risk of cutting my hand, or damaging my nails by accident. It's cut down on the amount on time, one swipe is enough. The zest is fine, light and comes out soft and light. It only takes one swipe, per section. I look forward to using it on chocolate as well.Top rated and highly recommended.

I discovered microplanes years ago with my first nutmeg grater. Smooth and easy to use, takes on hard items - like nutmeg. But I wanted one for hard cheeses, that would hold the grated cheese in a neet container. This is the answer. The micro blades are sharp and smooth and create very small shavings that melt quickly. The wrap around containment holds the shaved cheese at the table until you sprinkle it onto your dish without leaving a messy trail. Perfect for rock-hard cheeses to medium hard.( Doesn't work with semi-soft). Easy to clean with a dish cloth or brush and it looks tidy and neat. I recommend this.

I like the design and the blade cover that doubled as a catcher BUT the blade is not as good as a Microplane. I’m not sure if it got pushed in by me using too much pressure or what but it no longer zests as well as my older Microplane that gets more use. I think the blade isn’t as strong so it gets bent.My suggestions:Make sure the fruit is completely dry before zesting. Not only dry off with a towel but let it air dry for a while too.Use light pressure - let the blade do the workDon’t scrape the blade with anything. If the fruit wasn’t dry stuff will stick to it but don’t try scraping it off. This will bend or dull the blade (even going the opposite direction)But overall it’s 4 stars. If the blade held up better it would be 5

I don't know why it's so difficult to find a zester that easily grates lemon rinds, but I've experienced a lot of trial and error in my quest. The majority of zesters take too much pressure for too little yield. This Progressive zester gives the perfect sized gratings for my needs, mostly over grilled fish... salmon, cod, halibut etc., with minimal effort on my hands.

Perfect for marinades. I love to cook and especially like using lemons, limes, and oranges peels in marinades . I’ve purchased a few zesters from Amazon and they are hard to clean.. also extremely sharp and I find that I buy the produce and then I don’t want the hassle. They make it look so easy on the cooking shows but long zesters are nearly impossible to clean and most are not dishwasher safe.I love this product . If you’re looking for a small zester that actually works, not so sharp you cut your hand off and a little cup collects everything. Then you toss it in the dishwasher and you’re done. I’m very glad I found this.

The ability to get zest, but not pith, is the best I’ve ever seen. The clear part catches the zest (& oils!), which is great. But the various ridges trap A LOT of it. I used the pointers part of a tiny rubber scraper (from a milk frother) to get a lot more out, but nowhere near all. The high price is justified by the actual zesting abilities, but the terrible emptying & cleaning quickly reduced the value. I’ll keep it, but I definitely wouldn’t have paid more than $8 knowing what I do now.

Good quality, nice and sharp. Comes with a cover, easy to clean. This is very small, useful for zesting lemons and limes if you don’t have big hands. Would not replace having a larger grater in your house.

My hubby takes an orange to work every day and rather than waste all that rind, I got him this little wonder to take in his lunch kit. On his break, he zests the orange for me and brings it home so I can use the orange rind in my baking. I dry the rind out on a paper towel then jar it. Perfect! He loves the little thing...it works incredibly well. It's super sharp, keeps the rind in place and doesn't take up any room. We highly recommend it.

Convenient and way better than a microplane in my opinion. The zester is easy to clean, compact, and doesn’t take up a lot of space.

Did not zest the lemon I tried to use it on. Seems as if it isn't sharp enough. Will be returning it.
