I own a general Lee, hp40, mirage, galaxy, pres richard and of all of those I have been asked more questions about the adams. Clear as a radio gets. The recurve in this radio is so good it’s annoying at times because it picks up ALL of the skip. Out of the box it takes a linear better than any of the aforementioned radios and dead keys 200 on a 250 linear. Real good for a 3.5 watt. Also the reason I got it to begin with is it the fact it’s the only pres that takes a 4 pin mic. It’s a one trick pony but that one trick outperforms radios at almost 10 times it’s price ( ones you get it tuned get new misfits etc). Can’t go wrong with this one!!

Functions as it should, I do not use the auto squelch, prefer the slight hiss. 3mm machine screws needed to mount the mic holder were not included. Still searching , only need 2, not a package of 50. Hidden functions are yet to be determined. Gimmick functions are ok. Do not loose the manual, the push two/three buttons at a time functions are not obvious. Speaker is clear. I like the 4 pin mic plug as opposed to the plastic snap plugs on other brands. For $70, paired with a $20 antenna it's a pretty good choice for an average traveler.

As usual, the President line of radios are all exceptional values, the President Adams is no exception. Transmit wattage can be tweaked to a full 4 Watts if you know the secret. Audio modulation can also be "bumped up" to make this radio a loud talker. This would also make a great "prepper" radio.

Small radio so easy to find a place to install. Google up the secret menu and this radio will perform well. You folks saying this radio does not work need to check you antenna /coax. Had to take apart and reassemble my coax properly . Once that was done I adjusted the SWR and boom , was talking to other folks and radio checks coming back load and clear.

I just got it today. It's ok, some of the reviews I read before purchasing it mentioned a secret menu. Well there is no secret menu for the president adams fcc. Those reviews must be from other president radios. I'm disappointed, it's not as great as the reviews.

This is the first time I've stepped away from cobra and galaxy radios. I'm impressed. Packed full of features. Everyone says it sounds great on the other end. Auto squelch is nice if it's not too noisy, but if the noise reaches 2 bars then you'll have to squelch manually. No big deal.Excellent radio
