Your cart is empty.Lag screw bolts are used in place of standard wood screws whenever the mounting surface must bear a heavy load. The hex head allows for lag screws to be tightened with more torque than can be used on Phillips head screws, though a pilot hole is still required prior to installation. Note that lag screws do not accept nuts as they are technically thick heavy duty wood screws with threads designed to cut into wood. They are ideal for use on decks since installation can be accomplished without having access to both ends of the fastener, as opposed to standard hex bolts that require a nut on the opposite end.

I have purchased multiple sizes and lengths for yard and fence improvements. They are high quality and very sturdy. Don’t forget your washers. Compared to big box stores, this is an excellent value.

Installing casters on a mobile lumber cart with these. The package shows it is Grade A, which after this experience with them I’m thinking that stands for aluminum!!So soft that with a 7/16 deep socket and ratchet, 3 out of the 8 bolts that I attempted to mount the casters with, broke off approximately 1/4 inch below the head. After the first break, I actually took and drilled a pilot hole to take some of the stress off of it. No such luck. 2 more broke afterwards and then I gave up. Save yourself time and money and go buy hardware at TSC. Much better quality.

Should have read the negative review. Heads shear off way too easily. Worthless garbage. Will ruin your project with headless shafts stuck in your wood. Find another brand.

Would give 0 stars. Head broke off the first screw before it was even all the way in, caused serious issues on my project. Hours of labor to get the broke piece out. Terrible product!
