Product Description

This hobby Horse extension spring is constructed of spring steel and comes in a nickel plated finish. It is designed to replace broken or missing springs on children’s hobby horse toys, but it is also used for many other household applications. This spring features single looped, open ends (as opposed to single and double looped closed ends) and it has a 48.2 lb. maximum load capacity. The dimensions of this spring are 0.120 diameter wire gauge x 1-1/16 inch diameter x 5-1/2 inch length. This hobby horse spring has a generous deflection length of 3.62 inch. It is easy to install and it is used by many.

We bought these in July 23 to replace the originals on my sons (vintage) horse. They seemed good quality and the price point was great. We were excited to find a replacement. Unfortunately it failed roughly 6 months later in December. It's dangerous when they fail while they are riding them (which is most likely). My son rides it every day, so he creates a lot of wear. I'm not exactly surprised, but I'm disappointed. The originals lasted way longer.

Used it on a tension wire to maintain tension. Probably takes about 15-20 lbs force to start pulling it.

This was too strong for my needs, but it's a quality product and strong. Shipping was very fast, as well and i would definitely recommend it; if you're looking for a strong extension spring.
