This is a heavy-duty security latch supplied with 3 inch long wood screws to allow additional security by fastening thru jamb into the 2 inch x 4 inch outer door framing. Replaces standard strikes and provides improved security.

This security latch strike is constructed from steel and comes plated in chrome. It includes two 3 in. long screws that provide for maximum security. The screws fasten through your jamb and into the door frame for added reinforcement.

Comes with 2 longer screws to get into the wall frame for extra secure mounting. I’d use 4 deck screws atleast 4†long for max protection from break-in issues. Good heavy piece!

Works well and easily installed. Came with two short screws and two 3" screws. would have been nice if it came with four 3" screws.

The problem was getting the original off. Once that was done there was some work to cut out the extra wood because it is bigger than the original obviously because of the extra screw holes. Once installed it was a little off probably because the first strike was not set right. A slight adjustment and and all is well. I used the same screw holes so given that they used an adjustable I am sure that like a few things in this house the builder was more concerned with speed than workmanship.
