he PLM04 is the successor to the popular PRO Lamp Module, the PLM01! The PLM04 Lamp Module makes adding X10 on/off and dimming control to your higher wattage lights simple & easy. It offers instant plug-in control of incandescent bulbs rated 40-300 watts and offers dimming control (with Automatic Gain Control) even if the lamp wasn't able to dim before. This module also responds to "All Lights On" command - a feature you have come to expect from X10 Pro gear.

I have used X10 modules for about twenty years. They are easy to install and use. The unit is being used to replace an original unit that was destroyed by a power surge that the surge suppressor was unable to stop. The only drawback is that LED lights put out a lot of noise on the electrical system that can mask the signals. If this is a problem X10 has a noise suppressor that will lessen the noise.

The information on this lamp module says it is for LIGHT TYPE LED, but it does not work with my LED lamps. It does work for incandescent lamps.

I always like to keep a few of these on hand, especially at christmastime. I have ordered from other sellers in the past and some of those were duds, but these two work as they should. With this technology soon to disappear from the market, I want to make sure that I have enough modules for the future, as some do eventually stop working.

Other reviewers said this worked with dimmable LED's. It does not.

The only X10 module I can find currently that has AGC (auto gain control) and can accurately receive signals with all the little switching power supplies showing up these days that put noise on household power lines

For a little more money they could at least upgrade to where it will broadcast outside of the phase of the wiring in a home. Ligholier has been doing it for 40 years

Long time user of these products, and have found them to be very good.

Works OK, but I needed to install an XPPF powerline noise filter as well on certain devices in the home such as LED lighting. Also note that X10 products are no longer certified by UL, CSA, Intertek, MET, or any other testing laboratory, so they might not be as safe as they used to be
