I put this on a Yamaha YSL-643 and where this would fit between the f attachment and main - my horn has that welded together. I ended up cutting out a little above and below to fit.

I bought two of these for the purpose of putting them on at least one of my trigger tenors and on a bass trombone, but they couldn't fit each of the trombones I have. If you take a look at the picture I attached, I have four trombone bells placed side-by-side. From top-to-bottom, they are: 1) A cheap Chinese bass trombone, 2) Benge 165F, 3) Conn 88H, 4) Yamaha 600 series (I don't remember the exact model number). As you can see, they all have different wraps, so I think this is a pretty good representation of many of the trigger trombones various people will be looking to put a guard onto. The guard fits on the 2nd and 4th trombone. It doesn't fit the Conn (the 3rd trombone) because Conns have part of the trigger tubing soldered onto the main tubing, and it just BARELY doesn't fit my bass trombone. It's a good product, but I took a star off because I personally think they should warn people about potential fitting problems in a much more direct fashion. That being said, if you can't find something that fits your trombone, then just make your own guard with Velcro; that's what I ended up doing for my bass and my Conn.In the second picture, I have the larger version of the guard compared to the smaller version. I have no complaints about the larger one as it seems to fit on every single straight tenor I've seen so far.

This is the best , by far, neck guard I have ever run across. Easy to install and good looking and much more professional than the plastic "shower curtain type so common over the years. It is a bit more bulky but not objectionably so and has a comfortable feel contacting one's neck.

I have a 60-year-old trombone that I outfitted 59 years ago with my own neck guard: white clothesline coiled around the tube. The 'bone was a small bore tenor purchased from somebody who was upgrading to a large bore tenor. My "makeshift" guard finally gave up the ghost and I wanted/needed a replacement. I saw this and was concerned about the size, but I bought it anyway. As I expected, this item is undoubtedly a better fit for a large bore instrument. It is just a tad too long for a small bore, and the Velcro only engages about 30-40% to make its attachment. It works and I am using it, but it would have worked BETTER if it had been matched a little better to the diameter of a small bore tube. Maybe I need to upgrade to a large bore trombone after all these decades.Nah!!!

Great product! Shipping took forever (no Prime option). It feels nice on the neck and keeps my collar from being stained by my raw brass trombone. My only dislike is that it was slightly stiff and hard to put on the instrument because the padding and leather are so thick.

It is hard to wrap this well and have the seam with the velcro closure lay flat. It does protect the trombone from my neck and will stop the breakdown of the lacquer, but it isn't very pretty.
