This is a solid, robustly designed, portable "projector" stand. I put that in quotes because it's just a portable stand. You can use this for anything you need. It holds a decent amount of weight. I put a 5 lbs weight on it just to test and it did slide down even when clamped. I tightened the screws to the clamp and that made it clamp a little harder and it was able to support a 10 lbs weight. That's probably as much weight as I would attempt for this stand. Even though the clamp is plastic and rubber, it holds well. So, this gave me confidence to try putting a cheap 16 channel mixer on it for a couple of hours and it held steady. Granted I didn't lean on it, and I wouldn't recommend it, it held just fine. I also used this to hold a headphone amp box to put in the middle of the room for some artists and it worked brilliantly. If you need a portable table option, this wouldn't be a bad choice although you can't put more than 10 lbs on it. It's stable with that much weight, it just iffy that it will stay raised up. It will definitely support that much weight at it's lowest height though. It's better than carrying around a tv tray to put your stuff on, looks more professional, and came with a case to carry it to location gigs. Overall, Im happy with it and think the design is solid enough for the price point $25.99. You must keep in mind the target consumer, which is the on the go musician or someone needing an affordable solution for a projector table. Music stand or portable table, this works. Projectors aren't 10 lbs and this performs exactly as advertised along with other uses as well

Product listing doesn’t really show that the top tray is actually hinged in the middle and the four screws holds the tray open via the mounting plate. This stand also comes with two carry bags. One bag is for the bottom part of the stand and the other bag is for the top. The top bag will hold the assembled tray and the mounting bracket. The listing only shows one bag and I assumed the entire stand would fit in that bag. I suppose the mounting bracket could be removed from the top tray, folded up and stored inside the bottom stand bag but that is inconvenient, time consuming and presents a possibility for losing parts. I like that the tray can be used either with the edges pointing up or down. If you have something a little bigger than the metal tray you can mount the top with the edges pointing down. The edge pointing up provides an actual tray to help prevent anything from sliding or rolling off. I don’t like that the mounting bolt heads stick above the tray top so it really isn’t completely smooth. The angle of the top can be easily adjusted and does hold tight without any slipping. Height is also easily adjustable with a quick release lever. Overall for the price you can’t beat the quality of this stand and recommended for a multitude of uses.

We do a light show at our home for Christmas which requires that a laptop computer needs to be somewhere near the front windows for the Bluetooth transmission. I ordered this because it looked like it would work better as a laptop stand than the piano bench has been, and it really does! The unit comes already neatly folded into its storage bag, which was clearly designed for it. When I lifted it out, I could immediately figure out the basics like opening and adjusting the legs and increasing the height. The tray itself folds in half, but once it is open and attached to the stand, it stays flat and level. All the hardware necessary is included, including thumb screws to attach the tray and the allen wrench that holds the screw in place that attaches the platform to the tripod. I did use the instructions for that portion but only to be sure I was doing it correctly. (The instructions are very clear and include photos.)This tripod stand is much more heavy duty and attractive than I expected for this price and now that the price has dropped (as I write this review), it’s an even better deal. Everything locks into place well, it is extremely adjustable in both height and angle, and the carrying case makes it portable and easy to store. We have already found other uses for it instead of just waiting for our next Christmas light show; my husband is going to bring it to his classroom to use for his whiteboard projector and it would also work well as a music stand.

I have a projector stand but it is nothing compared to this beauty. This is a very fancy stand, it extends a lot higher and folds up nicer than my current one. I also appreciate the carrying bag it comes with, it literally holds everything and it makes it all very compact. The stand has various heights to choose from, the top plate does fit a smaller laptop but the majority of any projector, I do love that it has an edge so if you are at an angle it is not going to fall off or it will at least catch the edge.There is another carrying bag inside as well that I put the larger, heavy top plate in so it does not scratch up against the metal of the stand. Not a whole lot of pieces but the pieces to hold the plate down are small so the small bag provided I would recommend keeping so you do not lose the smaller things. Summer time is our time for outdoor movie nights as well as joined gaming nights, so instead of hauling TV's we have 4 projects and each person gets a wall while we sit back to back, would highly recommend and this stand are going to make those activities so much better. Would highly recommend, best stand I have had so far.

I purchased this to use as a portable stand for my bowed Psaltery. The tripod and device holder is plenty sturdy and stable once assembled. The one thing I didn't care for is the assembly process. In order to transport the stand in the provided case, one has to screw 4 small thumb screws up through the bottom of the stand plate. Some of the places I set up are also pretty dark. When I travel with a music stand, I want it to be fold and go. I will probably just use this i my music room and leave it assembled.
